--> Yak-List message posted by: "Mark Jefferies" <mark.j@yakuk.com> Its my experience that Russians will sign log books of a/c going to USA/ West that AD's have been done when in fact they have not. Big windows and all that. (ie see you coming) As one famous Russian company (state) said, its easier to sell to the west than do an overhaul. It's the airline pilot that has been the major importer of bogus a/c I have seen in USA. They get to Moscow FOC, jump in a taxi and out to the nearest flying club and bought anything they were shown, often different a/c arrived at destination other than those inspected, these being those without AD's, 59/60 especially. This practice took place before Russian customs stopped the export of a/c without export licences, typically early 90's Before you buy anything, just inspect the a/c with an AD list to hand, if your unsure of what it looks like this page http://www.yakuk.com/MPD.asp has pictures and a list for the 52 and this for the Y50 http://www.yakuk.com/MPD_yak-50.asp (less complete) For the 55 just send me a picture of the area and I will compare to the drawings. Top inside of the bulkhead of the 55 for the important AD. Br, mark J --> Yak-List message posted by: "Richard Goode" <richard.goode@russianaeros.com> For Service Bulletins, the Yak-55 has one major one on the fuselage/engine mount, but I would be almost certain that all the West have been modified. Nothing else of real significance.

--> Yak-List message posted by: "Rob Mortara" <rob@robinhill.com> So we don't have a repeat of the announcement we got at Sun N Fun I would like to talk to the Oshkosh War Bird Announcer. Can some one write something about the CJ - Yaks and Redstar (I am not very good writing things) and I will make sure the announcer gets it. Also if there is something specific for the day you guys are going to fly in the show I will try to get it to the announcer also. Email my phone and I will forward it robmortara@nextel.blackberry.com. Tim Stevens has my cell # for a direct contact while we are there Phil is flying out the CJ which will be at Oshkosh until Wednesday or Thursday (as my self) ROB
