Fellow Pilots:
I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our comrade Roger. No
doubt many of you knew him on a more personal level. What stands out in my mind
occurred several years ago at OSH. On our first mass formation, Roger was
assigned lead for we Yaks. He was much more experienced and proficient than
any of us.
The following day, I asked Roger if I could lead that flight. He was soft
spoken and a true gentleman. He agreed without hesitation. After the flight
he came over to me and said, "good job Ray". Only a man of grace, would make
this effort.
We all know how much his loss must effect his good friend Terry.
Our concern and love go out to Roger's family. This is a tragedy and a
difficult time for them.
My Best to All,
Ray Gage

Terry,
I had not had the chance to me you or Rodger. I had followed what Team Red
was doing and am impressed by the team's showmanship. It is a true lose for
RPA and the "Red Star" community. He has earned a new set of wings now with
the freedom to sore unimcumbered throughout the universe. It is us that are
left behind that suffer the lose. May God bless his soul. May God embrase
you, your family, and Rodger's family with his grace and love during your
time of great sorrow.
Even though it sounds Round, it is missing a beat now with Rodger's
passing. That hurt will improve with time but the lose will always be in
our memories.
May God Bless,
Roger " Viperdoc" Kemp

Terry,
The news about Roger has deeply saddened us all. Its a terrible loss for
everyone immediate family, you and countless friends in his extended flying
family. My time with Roger was short but in every encounter, he was on the
giving end. Nurturing the newbie on his wing, talking through the mission,
and giving advice only when asked. Ill always remember and cherish my time
with a great guy who I respected as a pilot and friend.
