Sam,
I will give them a call. Actually, the show was called "Dogfighting" and it
reminded me that I wanted the "book". I am also looking for copies of the
Ault Report that established Top Gun.
Pappy,
Rats! I guess I would never trade, sell, loan any of the stuff I have from
my heroes. I have Gallands book and it is signed. I also have Ralls book
which is signed too. I have tons of stuff with Robin Olds signature as well.
He flew with a friend of mine in his T-33 and afterwards, we spent the
better part of evening drinking and listening to his stories..and then more
drinking! Great guy!! I have a current issue HGU-55/P helmet with the
signatures of the following:
Tommy Hayes
Gabby Gabreski
Pete Peterson
Bruce Carr
Tex Hill
Joe Foss
Robert L Scott
Robin Olds
Chuck Yeager
Bud Anderson
Paddy Barthrop (BoB ace)
Billy Drake (BoB ace)
Bob Goebles
Rene Burtner (long story)
Paul Olson
Tom Landry (yes..the Dallas Cowboys coach..also B-17 driver)
Bob Morgan (Memphis Belle)
Phil Ardery (B-24 pilot who flew in Ploesti and started the KY ANG)
A few others that I cannot remember right now.
Sometime early next year I am off to Germany to interview Gunther Rall for
an article.
Now, I would like to add Boots to that list as well!
Tim

For my Southern FLA friends...there are hangers available here in Plant City (PCM).
A new cluster of Tees just opened up and are empty. Accomodations at my place
are complimentary.

Thanx for the responses. I checked the price of the edm700 online at
Aircraft Spruce. Although it sounds like a handy device, at around 2 grand, it
is
not in my budget. Alcor makes a single probe analog kit for around $225. There
is also a sigtronics digital egt for around the same amount. So, the big
question now, is where to put the probe.

All true, they (EDO) have been at the Nanchang factory for over two years
now. A very good friend of mine took EDO and Kenmore to China and made it
all work. It was interesting to watch happen.
Always Yakin,

I copied this from the AOPA website, and I thought it might be of interest
to the group
Historic floats to be made in China
Seaplane floats that were first manufactured in the United States in 1925
by Edo Aircraft and used to set speed and endurance records or contribute to
historic exploration are now made in China. The present Edo Floats division
of Kenmore Air of Kenmore, Washington, near Seattle does its manufacturing
at an existing aircraft manufacturing plant in Nanchang, China. The original
Edo Corporation now manufactures high-tech products for military and space
applications.

Well the closest I can come to that is a signed copy of Enola Gay (Gen Paul Tibbets-his
son was a patient of mine), Yeager ( Gen Chuck Yeager - came an spoke
to my squadron once), God is My Co-pilot ( Gen Robert Scott - was once my patient.
Had to sew his arm up after he cut it pretty badly on constentina wire he
was stringing around his back yard fence in Sun City. Someone had come over
his backyard fence and had broken into his home. " I can't shoot the Son Of A
Bitch because I can't have a gun in Sun City but I can sure see that he cuts his
balls off trying to climb over my fence if he ever comes back.") and Fox Two
( Commander Randy Cunningham. He was CC of the Top Gun fighter weapons school
at Miramar when my squadron went there to whip up on some F-14 tom kitties.
He had the book there for sale, so bought one and got him to sign it).
That is my collection of aviation memorabilia.
