Believe the same oil pump shaft is used to drive the fuel pump too on the
M14P
... if this shaft shears you may not have to worry about the engine seizing
as it will have stopped through fuel starvation before then ... unless
you're
able to maintain fuel pressure by manually pumping the "system" fuel primer.
So if oil & fuel pressures start to read zero chances are you've lost the
oil
drive shaft ... it never rains but it pours!

That I assumed. But given that they are separate, it is a possibility. I
also suspect that there were people on this list who were not aware of
the existence of the scavenge pump.

Celebrate the First Day of Winter. My mug is poured with Sammy Adams Winter Ale
and I"ll toast Winter while grilling on the Barbie out on the Lanai. Had to
mow the yard today and trim the roses for the tough months of cold ahead :>)
Cover those oil cooler intakes with winterization kits. At least in Winter I don't
get as many bug strikes....

Hmm let's see. My mug is poured with Long Trail Hibernator, I had to
chip more ice off the driveway, then go down to the Yak and work on
my snot bottle after turning the heater on in my hangar which got the
temp up inside to above 30F, it was 23F outside. No grilling on the
lanai, the grill's frozen. I'll fly form tomorrow AM it ought to be
around 20F and the ground, I don't want to know what's it's going to
be at 6-7K. The good news, wait, there isn't any :)

The good news is that the Y52 has a heater while the CJ does not, and you
have an insulated flight suit. Brother Blitz

Hello David,
Yes, there are two CJ's at LZU, mine and Skip Randall's. Jay Land keeps his
L-39 at LZU and his CJ over at a private strip near Alpharetta. Richard
Hess has his new CJ based in Calhoun. Call me at 678-428-1191 if you need
any more information.

Craig & Steve,
Had a hard time deciding which shorts and t-shirt to wear today. Now I remember
why I live on the west coast, in a desert. Three hundered sixty days a year
of sunshine.
The surf was up on the coast today, means we will have a storm shortly (1-2
days, then more sun)
Bad news is I need a heater in the hanger after dark, the temp drops into the
low 60's.
