At ARS and our Advanced Tactical Clinics out here fighting wing is a basic building block to our more advanced stuff....it is also a fun end unto itself. As for marketing this stuff....I just did...lol! Seriously, you can't commercialize formation flying (verboten by FAA regs) but we are adding Tactical Formation to our FAST manual and as our flying and clinics become more "mature" I'm sure you'll continue to see a lot more of this "new found fun" across the country. Just remember, Frank, dead six is a transitory position in fighting wing, no matter how much you'd like to stay there.... ;) Cheers, Barry ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 12:59:31 PM PST US From: PHCarter@AOL.COM Subject: Yak-List: Gear & Flap Light Bulbs Does anyone know the model number or description code for the gear & flap light bulbs. I need a couple of replacement bulbs. I will probably end up buy from one of the Yak parts suppliers, but in a pinch I would like to know if there is a common replacement bulb type. I dont know the part numbers, but if you take it to them they can find it, providing its the same ones as in the CJ. Doc Turns out JJ served at the same base I was stationed at for 4 years (the old GAFB). He moonlighted at Apple Valley airport the same time I took their 25 hour aerobatic course. I can't be sure but he may have been one of the instructors I took lessons with (memory dims with time, you know). Small world in aviation, isn't it? At any rate we could both relate to the hard ass bitch that ran the FBO there. JJ was the lead YAK-50 during that "Fighter wing" I mentioned. A hell of a stick and I'll fly with him anytime! Now if I just had a 50 I might be able to wax his ass :) Frank ----- Original Message ----- From: Frank Haertlein Subject: Yak-List: F.U. Anybody ever heard of F.U. (Formation University)? Did my first "fighter wing" (might be called extended trail by RPA guys) today. Geeze, what a blast. A YAK-50 was in the lead followed by me in the 52, then a CJ and then another two YAK-50's. Is there some way to market this stuff? The stock Yak-52 gear and flap bulb and light fixture are different. I bet your CJ was retro-fitted with 313 indicator light fixtures (good idea). Still on the look for a -52 light bulb. My best guess so far are S.C. Midget Flanged bulbs (GE327) or Midget Grooved bulbs (GE334). My local NAPA store helped with lots of info, but still researching the correct bulb / fixture. Thanks for your help Preston ________________________________ Message 10 ____________________________________ Time: 05:58:54 PM PST US From: "A. I recommend using the 327's to all of the Yak 52 people I come in contact with.
