Place the wheel on a piece of MDF board. Have a friend hold it and then
guide you
to drive your car tire (tyre) over the sidewall rubber to rubber. Its what
the auto
guys do when no bead breaker equipment is available......works every time
and
the MDF prevents any scratching of the rim and the rubber to rubber is
gentle
but persuasive.
kp
ps. bin those screwdrivers, Done properly no levers are needed.

If I'm not mistaken, they are only on the nose wheel hub because the nose wheel
hub does not have the square center piece on the clip that keeps the rim from
rotating on the hub. The pins keep the nose wheel rim from rotating on the hub.
At least that's true on the Yak 52.

Good description Dennis, but don't forget the 3 short little pins that fit UNDER
the clip halves that align the 2 wheel halves. They fiendishly and steathily
drop out on the hanger floor without notice!

Yes, they are. Unless of course you have a 52W or TW, which have Cleveland
wheels and brakes.

To all of those coming:
Tim Williams spoke to one of the coordinators, and here is the scoop for
Saturday:
" Spoke with one of the coordinators of the flyin yesterday, he said the
runs would be over by 8:30 am, he wanted planes in between 9:00-10:00 am.
Said 18/36 would be closed for the run, but other runway would stay open."
So plan on arriving ~ 9-10am , if you are coming, please drop me an email,
so I know who to look for.
Those that I know about:
Tim Williams
David McGirt
Dennis Savarese
BJ Kennamore
Roger "Doc" Kemp - Maybe
See you there, War Eagle..

Any options out there besides Airpower and Cannon (or US Specialty)? I've had
US Specialty on two different aircraft and it seems like their specialty is screwing
pilots.

Finally! Almost 11 years since I've had my CJ and now there is a plastic model.
Thanks to the tip from Jeff Linebaugh, I surfed the hobby sites and now have
my Nanchang model at home. From Greatmodels.com, just $29.95 plus shipping. Sold
under the "Trumpeter" brand, this is a nicely detailed, authentic kit and
made in China I might add. Maybe I should hire a kid to put it together for me
so I don't screw it up.
Eventually I'll have to buy another kit to duplicate the external mods I have in
the works for my CJ.

Scooter,
I have no idea what you are paying for insurance and I am also sure
it's none of my business either. However, I will say the price I am
paying through Airpower, Tom Johnson, is as good if not better, than
I could get anywhere else. I went with Airpower over Cannon because
at equal numbers I decided supporting another Yak/CJ driver who
supports us was the right thing to do.

Truthfully Scooter, that is the goal of any insurance coverage. Whether it
is boat, plane, car, life, health, or home.
