Believe it or not, I just got the lowest quote from Avemco. I have an ATP and 2500 hours and 900 complex, but 0 time in the Yak 55, so they were not too excited about that part. So my quote was around 2500/year, but they beat out every body else, I trust me....I bugged everybody else. Smash Scooter <yakk52@verizon.net> wrote: --> Yak-List message posted by: "Scooter" Any options out there besides Airpower and Cannon (or US Specialty)? I've had US Specialty on two different aircraft and it seems like their specialty is screwing pilots. Subject: ARS DVD shipped!
    From: Barry Hancock <barry@flyredstar.org>
Well, after much trial, tribulation, sweat, and tears, the ARS IV DVD has finally been shipped. If you were a participant in last year's event it should arrive in your mailbox early this week. If you were not in attendance but would still like a copy, they are $30/ea. Cynthia went all out to produce this DVD and is WAY in the red as a result. If any of you would like multiple copies, that sure would help out her bottom line. Please contact Cythia Stagner directly for more copies at Cynthia@Stagner.com. NOTE: The dates for ARS V on the DVD are incorrect. ARS V is May 3-7...I'm hoping to have the web update completed and registration open this week. Enjoy the video, and we look forward to seeing you for ARS V. Cheers, Barry Barry Hancock Event Director All Red Star (949) 300-5510 www.allredstar.com "A Unique Aviation Experience"

Okay, not sure what happened with my previous post, but what I said was that I found the cheapest insurance with Avemco for my Yak 55. I have an ATP and a bunch of hours, but 0 time in type, so they hammered me for about 2600/year. But they still beat everyone else's quote, and I bugged everyone! I too have an ATP with over 3000 hours and had zero time in type. Now that I fly the thing as much as I can, it will drop! Its with Cannon right now but will look at TJ when it comes due. Yeah, I checked with everyone and most other companies wanted over 3500 for 55K hull value! I also have to carry the 1 million for acro competitions, but that doesn't affect the price that much. Maybe it's a trend of companies not trusting these a/c? I am praying that it will go down next year!
