You don't need a gun rack if you have a CCW and you carry.
Also remember, rednecks have a strong attraction to anything that burns
complex hydrocarbons for fuel and converts a large part of them into
acoustic energy.
Would it help if I sang "Dixie" now?

Wiki was developed by the folks working on open software. They needed a
way to develop documentation in an ad-hoc manner, with whoever had time
or inclination doing the work. They needed a way to collaborate on
building informational web pages quickly and easily.
So a wiki is a super-easy-to-update web site. Anyone can make entries
and anyone can edit entries. Pages can be super-fancy with formatting or
just a place to put useful text and pictures.
I thought that a wiki would be very useful to the aviation community. We
need a place to put aircraft and aviation documentation. The mailing
list has been great but it is too ephemeral. You have to be on it for a
long time to catch all the stuff that goes by. If someone posts a
particularly meaty message and then you subscribe the next day, you
won't see the message nor will you even know it went by.
OTOH, if someone takes that especially meaty message and drops it into
the right place on the wiki, you will find it when you go searching for
information.
Another way of looking at a wiki is a living encyclopedia. One of the
best encyclopedias in the world today is a wiki. it is the wikipedia.
You can see it at http://www.wikipedia.org. Anyone can write an article.
The result is a huge collection of really good articles. The quality of
material is amazingly good.
Of course, you could just go look and get an idea.

http://www.wikipedia.com
Does that help?

It's simply an internet abbreviation for Waikiki beach in Hawaii. When
someone says they "read in on the wiki", they simply were laying on the beach,
cold
drink in hand, reading the FAR's. :-}

My airplane suffered through a summer in middle Alabama and was covered with some
sort of pollen or...who the hell knows. It also effected my brand new class.
It now has a tough film on it that I want off! Anyone have any suggestions of
the BEST plexiglass cleaning products?
Also, in the old days, I used to use Rain-X on the visor of my motorcycle helmets.
Has anyone tried it on the Yak? I am looking more for protection against the
bugs and oil.
Thanks in advance.

Tomorrow April 3rd. A number of troops are meeting at Williston (X60) at
1000 to fly out to LAL. We will pick up one airplane en route out of Dunnellon
(X35).
All plan to listen up on 123.15 or 123.17. ETA LAL around 1130-1200.
EAA has asked us to set up a flight of CJs and a flight of Yaks for special
in flight photos.

What I would do.
First rinse off with fresh water.
Do not rub with anything.
Next use a dish liquid detergent and a soft rag and wash down the glass.
Rinse well.
Next use a good plastic polish.
Never ever make circular motions with any rag with polish or soaps. Always
make straight motion with rags.

I like Plexicoat by AeroShell, part of the Flight Jacket kit.
Good plex cleaning advice, btw.
Also, don't let your airport security pass scratch your glass! :-)

Oh, one more thing. Microfiber cloths are *the* best to use - shop rags,
paper towels and such will grind any debris into the already distressed
plex. Ouch!
