Dude, I may live in the People's Republic of California now but I used to live in Petersburg, VA, at one time in my life. I learned how to "burn a pig" and demonstrate other skills necessary for life south of Richmond, VA. I believe that I qualify to sing Dixie under certain controlled conditions. ;-) > Sorry Brian, > > Mark Bitterlich Brian

I have been using Plexus for years. It has a cleaner, and mild polish. Works well.

--> Yak-List message posted by: "cdustercc" <craig@craftairservices.com> I know people are going to cringe at this, but we wipe our windows down between ten and fifteen times a day with an aerosol can of plexi safe cleaner and the blue shop towels that are half way between rags and paper towels. Scratches only seem to be a problem when the load boys let their watches get on the glass. We have also had really good luck getting bad contamination like paint overspray off of plexi with a product called clay lube. It is just a bar of clay and some soapy water that you rub on the glass until it feels smooth and the contamination is gone. You can also wax your plexi with turtle wax. It will clean up nicely as long as you have an absolutely clean applicator pad. I would stay away from any plastic with rain-x although it does a great job on glass aircraft winshields. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Roger Kemp" <viperdoc@mindspring.com> One day I was walking across the ramp and noticed the crew chief rubbing this white stuff on our viper canopies. Ask him what it was..his reply was Elephant cum was what they all called it..Anyway, turns out it was Turtle Wax 2002. Comes in a green bottle. Simply wipe it on, let it dry, and wipe it off with a soft terry cloth in the manor discribed earlier. It will take bugs, oil, pollen, and even pine tar off. Have been using it for about 4 years on my windscreens without any noticable scratches. In fact on some of the windsheilds I have put it on that had the circular grazing, It seemed to fill in the scratches. The People's Republic of San Francisco is too busy practicing the fine art of busybodiedness. The new motto of the PRC and PRSF? "We know better how you should live your life than you do." Hmm, who's motto is this? "We know better how you should fly your airplane than you do." But enough of this stuff. Anyone gone to look at the Wiki? Dennis' procedure for changing CJ6A tires is there. Even if you don't know how to do something, if you want to know, put in a place keeper and then we will know what blanks to fill in first. Brian

I will probably modify them a bit to improve "flow" in the cockpit. After that I will tackle the EPs. So what are the rest of you going to contribute? Brian

But it would be much better if it was turned in to searchable, indexable pages. If you want to upload files to put on your pages look at the left side of the WIKI page under "toolbox". You will see a link for "upload file". If you are going to upload a file, do what you can to make sure the file has a unique name that someone else won't use. "Image15.jpg" is not particularly unique. In the case of Pappy's history article I prefixed each of the image files with "gcj6aha-" (goolsby CJ6A history article), as in "gcj6aha-image14.jpg". It is unlikely that anyone else is going to put that in their file name. -- Brian Lloyd 361 Catterline Way brian-yak at lloyd dot com Folsom, CA 95630 +1.916.367.2131 (voice) +1.270.912.0788 (fax) I fly because it releases my mind from the tyranny of petty things . . . - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
