Smash,
No sweat..and that comes from a sweaty. One important thing I learned during my
time in theater was that every single person who puts on the uniform is needed
and just as much as the next person. The flyers always get the glory for a mission,
but my heroes over there were our maintenance folks. Working on a ramp
where temps reached over 120'F and they did it with a smile. They did AWESOME
work and kept our unit at the top of the heap when it came to MCR. We had the
highest in theater for quite some time.
The concept of Total Force really took on another life over there. I was impressed,
awed, and proud to see the men and women of our Armed Forces do what they
did..together.
So whether you fly something with a pointy nose, a big spinning disc on top, or
the four fans of freedom; as long as your in the fight, you are ok with me.
As far as Flags, we have not done one BUT we do have a course out west where we
learn to fly into a high threat area that includes both ground and air threats.
One scenario calls for a pair of fighters to jump us.(Vipers this time but
they talked about Hogs, which really got us scared). Anyway, the fight went well
for us. Only a few small 20mm's in the outer panel of a wing after six engagements.
Nothing the sheet metal guys could not fix on a smoke break. We just
slowed way down (

If you decide to go the scuba route here's an economical and easy approach: On
ebay you can get a paintball "scuba fill station" for about $25. This little
gizmo attaches to a scuba tank on one end and has a quick disconnect on the other.
It has a pressure gauge and it's very compact. Take out the quick disconnect
and you'll have a 1/8" npt female thread. Attach a grease gun hose to
this (they are rated to something like 3k psi) and your Aircraft Spruce goosneck
hose coupling (P/N 06-11700) to the other end (also female 1/8" npt). Total
cost is about $50. This assumes you have the schrader tapped into your air
port and you have a scuba bottle.

'don't know, but it sure looked like fun while it lasted.
Can't tell if the fuselage is straight, but it doesn't look like too bad of
a project, save for the canopy; that'll be a real drag.
Good Luck

Gang,
I am being offer 4 Chinese parachutes, all made in 2000, in as new
condition. Price is $500.00 each. Any takers? I don't know any specs,
only that they were made to use in the CJ6A.

Subject: | Electrical Problem |
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Tim Gagnon" <NiftyYak50@msn.com>
Was wondering if anyone good shed some light on this. I have spoken to a few folks
today (thanks TJ) but it was too late to get into the airplane to check what
was mentioned. I am looking for anyone who has had this or a similar problem
or may know what happened.
I have a Yak-50 so keep that in mind.
I am flying along today and go to change the destination in my GPS. As soon as
I do, the radio/GPS goes dead. It kind of put out a static sound before it went
though. Then it comes back on...then back off. So I start load shedding in case
I had just the battery left. Anyway, it finally goes dead and then I start
losing instruments. Oil temp guage, gear lights and fuel indication. They dim
a little bit then they are gone. They come back on briefly then they are gone
again. So, I just shut everything down and landed without incident.
On the ground, I have a mechanic check it out. What we have is a good battery but
ZERO power getting to the airplane. No instruments (except for the GEN light??),
no shower of sparks, nothing. The things is dead!
So, it sits in the hangar until another mechanic (with a boner for things electric)
takes a look. I would like to give him something to look at and was hoping
someone here could add some insight.
By the way, it was a gorgeous day and I was going to refuel and fly....so I was
pretty pissed!
Thanks in advance.
