Both have had a prop strike in grass runways in Russia. I have Russian log books and both are in engines crates for storage as a spare or to use on a CJ-6 conversation. Both engines are under 1000 hours (one is 390TTE) on first over hauls and all components. If you know anything about these engines you will find that everyone just places a new prop on these engines and fly's away. New engines are going for $26,000 (360 HP) to $38,000 for the new 450HP. These engines are considerable less than that. Save money now for Aeromotors is raising prices for overhauls to $17,000 in January 2006. Pay less than an overhaul. I will accept the best offer for the engines but before February 1st. Thank you for the consideration. Gang, If you have delayed either your registration or hotel/car reservations for ARS V (May 3-7), this email is for you! HOTEL I visited the hotel a few days ago and it is nice, clean, and easy to get to from the airport (5 min. trip). Bring your swim suits if you want to unwind in the jacuzzi after a long day of flying...we promise the girls won't laugh at your white bellies...too much. ;)- IMPORTANT: There are folks who have registered for the event but don't show up on the hotel registry yet. Register now as our block of rooms is filling up! Registration codes are below: 3rd - 7th: CGRED 4th - 7th: CGSTAR 5th - 7th: CGREDS 6ht - 7th: CGRED1 The front desk person will ask how many days and then the code will go along with their confirmation number. OR you can reserve your room using these codes...either way it is under All Red Star. The CG is Best Western's group code...nothing to do with us; something they have to use. If you have any questions, please contact our Event Coordinator, Amy Rose, at bomberamy@yahoo.com. REGISTRATION Due to complications last year, online registration at www.allredstar.com will NOT stay open until the event this year. Online registration will close on May 1st. You can still register at the event, if you like, but you'll pay an additional fee. Soooo, register now if you haven't already done so! RENTAL CARS We will have a 15 passenger van, plus a few other vehicles on a schedule to shuttle people back and forth from the hotel. If you would like more flexibility, we have arranged a very convenient system for you to rent a car for the event. Cars INC. 1-(559) 781-9900 They will have your car at the airport when you arrive and check you in there. When you leave, they will make arrangements for you to leave the car and keys at the airport. (Including Sunday drop off) Here's what the renter needs to do: 1) Inform them you are calling for the REDSTAR Discount. 2) Tell them which date and approx time you will arrive. 3 Tell them which date and approx. time you will leave. 3) Which car or van you want: (Note: The 50 mile per day limit is the cheapest deal. The airport is approx 7 miles from the hotel.) FLYING EVENTS - UPDATE With the recent rain in the area, the landscape is green, and the snow caps the southern end of the Sierras...very pretty! 1) Formation Challenge. Now is the time to get your team together. Rumor has it, the San Diego Escadrilla, Southern California Tiger Squadron, Bay Area Bombers, and a few other groups have already started planning their flights. 4 nice flight jackets and immortality again await the winning team. You'll be receiving a description of the event and scoring guidelines shortly. 2) Flour bombing Competition. There will be no mistaking the target this year! We have made arrangements with the local salvage yard to have a wrecked car available for both the Friday evening CAS demo and the Saturday Flour Bombing Competition. Wonder what kinda damage those rubber chickens will do to an old Impala.... Also, I had a nice conversation with Brian Shul, who is our keynote speaker this year. He is excited to come and is fully aware that we are flying the spoils of the Cold War victory he helped to secure....racing around the globe at Mach 3 sustained in the SR-71. When he's finished with his presentation you'll be an even more proud American. Finally, we have secured the services of a Margarita Mixologist from within our ranks, who guarantees the best 'Ritas you've ever tasted for the Cinco de Mayo Ramp Party. The talents of this group never cease to amaze! ;) Sooo, now that you've recovered from the yearly Uncle Sam pain pill, take the time to register and/or reserve your rooms. Well, if worse comes to worse Porterville has the nicest campground on an airport that I've seen.... ;) Barry Barry Hancock Event Director All Red Star (949) 300-5510 www.allredstar.com "A Unique Aviation Experience"
