Getting old is sooo fun, I can't find the "Bei Yei" layout file I once had. Could
someone send the Bei Yei layout as well as other Chinese markings for the CJ?
I need to get decals made up for the forthcoming paint job.
Perhaps I'll have to look on my old computer with the older version of Word, and
to think my original marking drawings were once laid out in Harvard. IT technology
certainly changes fast. Anyone need a UNIX/SunOS admin guy? I didn't think
so. How about SQL and Informix/Sybase DBA? Punch cards, and slide rules anyone?

Hello all,
Please advice,
Today during my take-off with a 52 I did not had the power as usual. Afte=
r
take-off ATC called me that I did had a thick trail of smoke behind me,
which did hung there for a while. I did check my engine during flight wit=
h
several power settings and I did notice that, when full power applied the
engine was running like my grandma=92s rocking chair=85. When power a bit
reduced everything was running fine, but not the power I=92m used to.
The cylinders are OK for sure. My mechanic told me that the cause might b=

the carburetor. Does anybody have other suggestions?

Jerome,
Blue smoke or black smoke? Heavy smoke or a light smoke trail? What do the spark
plugs look like? Carboned up or oily/wet. Black smoke is generally due to the
engine carberator being set to rich for one. Blue smoke is another issue entirely.
Could be a broken ring, warped valve guide, burnt piston, or the mixture
to rich to name a few things. I would not fly it again until it has been looked
at little closer. Do you have the capability to burn an oil sample? Are you
making large enough chunks of metal to set off the chip detector?
Those are a few things to worry about.

Acry-Glo is great stuff. You will like it. Congrats and don't forget to
send photos of the progress. ( Let them know that you're posting on the
"potential customer" YAK list for all to see and I'll bet they take
really good care of you,)

Thanks Frank. I was looking for this website.
As an aside, I just got back from my first "All Red Star" event in
Porterville and had the time of my life. Finally got to meet some of
those "faceless names" on the YAK list.
Doug Sapp & family( now I know why you all love those guys), B-Dawg (
he just got his FAST lead pilot check and did very well...congrats there
Barry), Blitz, Condor, Ranger, Batman, Munchie, Drifter, Potus, Storm,
Doc and many others. What a fun, professional, big hearted, crazy and
exceptional group they are. Thanks to Yoda and Condor for taking me up
with them. I felt very welcome. Truly a great event! Well done Drew,
Barry, and all. Thank you.
