While interviewing a Marine sniper, Katie Couric dolefully asked: "What do you feel when you shoot a terrorist?" The Marine shrugged and replied: "Recoil"........ ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 08:00:38 PM PST US From: "Ron Davis" Subject: Re: Yak-List: Blue Mountain EFIS/Lite It is a lousy unit, and Greg "It worked fine when we shipped it, you messed up the installation" is impossible to deal with. Look at the Chelton (which I have no experience with) or the Grand Rapids Technology units (which I have installed and flown and test flown). I presume the owners liked the unit because I have never heard from any of them. ----- Original Message ----- From: Shinden33 To: yak-list@matronics.com Sent: Thursday, June 15, 2006 11:13 PM Subject: Yak-List: Blue Mountain EFIS/Lite Anyone have experience with the Blue Mountain EFIS/Lite. Thinking of replacing my RMI with one. Ron - one other question. What generation were you working with? Per everyone's recommendations I looked at the websites for Dynon and Chelton. Chelton: I used to work for the government but that, unfortunately for me, doesn't make cost an independent variable on a personal level. Looks like good stuff but WAY out of my price range. Dynon. The main thing that I need is EHSI which the Dynon does not have so that's out. Which puts me back at Blue Mtn but of course, I don't want to pay for garbage either. The gent that Dennis suggested I talked likes his. The only issue he has had is with heading indication and believes that is caused by mounting of the magnetometer to close to the inverters. If anyone has anything else to add please jump in. There doesn't seem to be a clear answer here. Again, thanks for the advice all.
