That was back in 2000-2001 time frame. Not too long ago I pulled an uplock and it looked new. Caveat.......I do most of my flying in the Mojave Desert. After a few test flights I measured the surface temperature of the distributor cap covers, it showed on average 150 degrees centigrade. Now here comes my question: Is that kind of high temperature normal, and if yes what could be the cause of such unusual peaks? Thank you in advance for your much appreciated help.
