Roger,
Unlike the CJ, the Yak 52 only has one small air filter with is below the
pop-off valve on the firewall. With the exception of the felt compressor
filter and the aforementioned air filter, there really isn't much we can do
on the 52. Cleaning the "snot" bottle out periodically helps prevent the
goop from getting pushed back through the check valve and the air filter and
finally back into the main air tank. Quite frankly, I think the CJ has a
much better pneumatic filtering system.

Seven year Cicadas were a plague last year, but with the summer heat on us
and their racket again filling the air, we should review what Cicadas really
are.
These creatures are not poisonous and do not have a stinger. They serve no
known useful function. They are not part of the food chain. Half of the
population are males who spend their time singing or calling for the females to
mate.
The annoyance from their loud singing, which can reach 100 db is almost
unbearable, and is tempered by the fact that the periodic cicadas are only out
for 4 to 6 weeks. While here they are most annoying. Their bodies cover our
cars' windshields as we drive. They are forever flying into us or alighting upon
us. Yet they seem proud of their flying skills (which are limited to say the
least). They are unwanted, loud, obnoxious, rowdy, driven it seems to a
search for sex and determined to thoroughly annoy the human race. Many wonder
where they come from.
The best theory is that these obnoxious useless creatures are really fighter
pilots returned to their natural state.............!

Unless you are a gynecologist.
Seriously -
OSH is going great. Weather could be better. It has been either
t'storms or very hot and humid.
The highlight of the week without a doubt has been the memorial
dinner for Rodger. Everyone who worked on that did a great job.
Jurgis flying for our private airshow and presentation was a close
second - and he was here because of Rodger.
Fiddler and friends kept everyone's spirits light with some
incredible music.
OSH is OSH - big, busy, crowded - etc.
There are alot cameras around this week, I am sure many pics will be
coming for all to see.

The attached should help. It's a "good" scanned diagram of the CJ-6 flap
pneumatic system.
Enjoy.

Thanks guys for all the info. Doug is right, the list is a great
resource
and as newbie I certainly appreciate the help.
I am heading out to Oshkosh (airline) tomorrow and will get working as
soon
as I get back Saturday.
Does anyone have a "good" scanned diagram of the CJ-6 flap pneumatic
system

Doc.
Spoke with Rob Kent & we reckon you'll not be any better off trying to use the
"other" side of the Yak-52 gauge for your aux tank - as both the sender (specific
to the fuel tank dimensions) & the display (decoding the phase combinations
of a given sender) need to be matched for this to read accurately.
Cheers, Rob R

Rob,
Thanks, I was afraid of that. I will be better off using a Shadin fuel flow
monitor than fooling with the Fuel gauge. Appreciate the input.

Pete,
You describe the Puerto Ricans and Cubans in South and Central Florida
very well...."....unwanted , loud, obnoxious, rowdy, driven, it seems, to
a search for sex,and determined to thoroughly annoy the human race."
Thankyou,
CLIFF

Seven year Cicadas were a plague last year, but with the summer heat on
us and their racket again filling the air, we should review what Cicadas
really are.
These creatures are not poisonous and do not have a stinger. They serve
no known useful function. They are not part of the food chain. Half of
the population are males who spend their time singing or calling for the
females to mate.
The annoyance from their loud singing, which can reach 100 db is almost
unbearable, and is tempered by the fact that the periodic cicadas are
only out for 4 to 6 weeks. While here they are most annoying. Their
bodies cover our cars' windshields as we drive. They are forever flying
into us or alighting upon us. Yet they seem proud of their flying skills
(which are limited to say the least). They are unwanted, loud, obnoxious,
rowdy, driven it seems to a search for sex and determined to thoroughly
annoy the human race. Many wonder where they come from.
The best theory is that these obnoxious useless creatures are really
fighter pilots returned to their natural state.............!

This is outstanding. I just had a great afternoon with a bunch of great CJ
and Yak guys here in Oshkosh. I like this group already. Once again, thank
you very much the schematic is great - it is almost "Med Proof"
All the best,
Med
