Tim,
I beleive the HUD is the same as the bomb sight used in the L-29. Most guys remove
them intact when they import them.

Guys,
I was asked by the NTSB and the FAA to completely tear down the offending
Huosai, and I am now discovering that some of you still have tools which I
loaned you from my working stash. I would really appreciate it if you would
send them back immediately so I can continue with the tear down.
Always Yakin,
Doug Sapp

Dear Dennis and Rodger,
Thank you both for your input, It would appear that this is the problem
according to the symptoms which appear to be identical to your
experience.
I will do the tests to make sure that it has gone away.
One thing that has me confused though, why does one bad mag cause all
this angst when the second mag is firing correctly, isn't that the
reason for two mags.?
I had a post from Michael Wikstrom in France who had a very similar
experience to mine, same symptoms again but his was caused by fiberglass
long range tanks that were dissolving and blocking the fuel filter with
glass strands.
My plane is fitted with the same fiberglass tanks,so I have bought
aluminium tanks fron Lithuania and will fit them when it arrives.
Seems there is more one way to skin a cat.
Thanks again
Bruce Thomas

Dennis,
Well I did what you suggested and removed the hose from the elbow on the right
side (if sitting in plane) and then, turned the main valve on. Bingo leaking out
the elbow! So I pumped some tool oil in and reconnected it. Proceeding on to
the left side disconnected the line from the elbow and turned on the valve.
I got nothing out the elbow but a slight leak out of the hose. Is this normal??
I tried to pump some oil into the system with the scuba set up but after removing
the lines it looks like it did not work. The lines were bone dry. Really....
now all I have is oil coming out and running down the I/P from the selector
lever.
I would like to try to get some oil to the cylinders first. Before a tear down
and reseal. What is the best way to do this? BTW I'm doing all this on jack stands.
Thanks
Mark

Gents,
I have had a few inquiries about photos from ARS
2006. I recently bought a professional Epson printer
that prints photos up to 13" x 19". The print quality
is as good as I have seen from a printer. -Maybe
Blitz can comment on the quality next week after he
receives his (In the mail tomorrow). If anyone wants
prints, let me know. They will be $20 each including
shipping, and $10 for each additional print that I can
fit in the tube. Just look at this website:
http://www.mcgirt.net/~ars2006/ars2006
-let me know which pic you want. I can print matte or
glossy, but the color comes out much better with
matte. I am not looking to make money here, just
cover expenses...

Giday Bruce...I've had composite tanks cause grief before and sloshing
with POR 15
was an easy and inexpensive fix. Perhaps with what and where you are
flying this is
not an acceptable recommend though.

Bruce,
Have you checked you fuel filter screen. If your tanks are breaking down, your
filter should be clogged with fiberglass if this is the case. That is a quick
look that will not cost you an arm and a leg.
