--> Yak-List message posted by: "Scooter" <yakk52@verizon.net> Thanks again. Another dumb question: is it possible that there would be oil leaking Where these gland nuts attach to the supercharger case? Scooter-- The intake induction tubes alternately operate at both positive and negat ive pressure (compared to ambient) so leaks are either blown out of the tubes by positive supercharger pressure--when manifold pressure is above ambient a t full throttle/high RPM--or you may have a leak from somewhere else that i s showing up on the tubes. At lower manifold pressures (below ambient) you will be sucking air into the tubes through any leaks, leaning the fuel/ai r mixture. While there is obviously oil in the supercharger section to lubricate the parts, oil coming out of the tubes could be an indication o f an internal oil leak in the blower section. What I would expect to see normally is fuel stains from the fuel/air mixture going from the supercharger to the cylinders--shouldn't be much oil in that mixture. A more likely source of oil would be leaking rocker box covers, or from cylinder bases, with the oil blown back onto the intake tubes/blower sect ion or from something leaking in the accessory section.
