Anybody out there know a good place to send air bottles to be tested? If there is somebody in the Cincinnati or Dayton Ohio area, that's even better. Thanks. Jay

Group, We have been offering Yak 52 electrical schematics CDs with English translations since May 2000. We also offer many other manuals, hard copy. We are in the final throes of redesigning our website. It should be up & running in a couple of weeks. In the meantime, I have a few items I'd like to put out to you: We have Russian-overhauled M-14Ps in stock. Also, several new, old stock engines available. Contact me offlist for more information and pricing. We will have a price increase on all engines after the first of the year. The engines being offered for sale in Russia today are considerably more expensive than our current inventory. We are brokering a beautiful flush riveted 1978 Yak 50. This one is unique in that it has had the spar modification upgrade installed. It is one that Carl (Hays) imported and assembled in San Diego. Lots of goodies on it and a great price. Contact me offlist for a spec sheet and photos. A few weeks ago, there were some issues about the flap and landing gear valves. We overhaul these units and have done so for years. The valves are sold on an exchange basis or outright. You can specify new or used. Subject: Call Signs
Call signs are fascinating. Some are founded in the unusual, like Hal "Batman" Morley's, and others in ignominy, like Steve "POTUS" Fox's. Interesting stories lie behind them all. So, our Red Alert magazine will soon have an ongoing column entitled "Call Signs." Quarterly, call signs freshly awarded will be announced with their attendant stories. Also, we invite you share the history of your call sign for the edification and amusement of the brethren. Don't be shy. Be reminded, though, that a pilot may not chose or reject a call sign given. They are awarded by your peers, and may change over time with vagaries of your flying life. Usage is based upon common acceptance, not necessarily your pleasure. In real life, be assured, nobody is "Maverick" or "Iceman." Please write off-list with your call sign's story or those of your RPA friends. If you're having difficulty formulating a call sign for someone deserving, the RPA's Self-Appointed, Ad Hoc, Call Sign Committee will be delighted to help. Thanks, "Blitz" Byron M. Fox Mill Valley, CA Nanchang CJ-6A N221YK 415-307-2405 PS: "Blitz" was awarded by my mommy. In the midst of disciplining an unruly infant, a neighbor called to tell her that the Germans were blitzing London. "To hell with the Germans," she responded. "I've got a blitz right here." It stuck, but now it's kind of silly on a 67 year old, balding guy.
