And if we are counting votes, Air Wolf is the best and they do support Red Star, we should consider them when choosing a oil filter. The Champion Oil Filter is a FAA approved filter widely used on many aircraft. The high pressure bypass is an FAA requirement for it to be certified for aviation use. This is an important point and one of the reasons I went with this type oil filter. The Champion (or other) certificated filter is also strong enough to withstand scavenge pump pressure on radial or other dry sump engines. Scavenge pressure is unregulated and in certain conditions may reach 300 psi.
