    Subject: Yak-50 Paint Scheme
    From: "Tim Gagnon" <NiftyYak50@msn.com>
I have been wanting to repaint my airplane pretty much from day one but have been cleaning up some long needed (and required) maintenance items so new paint has been put off. Well, there are only a few more things I want to do and paint is near the top of the list. Here are a few schemes I am considering: Both are copied from existing airplanes. The first being a La-9 over seas somewhere and the other from a Yak-9 that I believe is in France. Thoughts anyone? Opinions? Suggestions? By the way, this artwork was done by a friend of mine. If you are looking for some artwork of your airplane...or would like to "loft" a scheme, drop him a line. He has done work for a few others on here as well. I'm afraid that if I take the thing apart it'll never go back together again. I tried it with the starting air valve and, well....have you rebuilt one of those? I have an inoperative one sitting on my shelf. You get the picture. Sly

    Subject: Oil Filters in Yaks
Folks interested in putting Oil Filter's in their Yaks, CJs, and Yak-Changs (M14P). I finished doing problem determination on an oil problem with my set up just a few months ago. I have (and recommend the Airwolf). However, you should be very careful where in your system you put the filter. Do NOT put it between the oil tank and the engine. The oil pump will not be able to suck oil through the filter from the oil tank at the rate it needs. This will cause problems with oil pressure in the engine and pump. This obviously could cause all sorts of other problems. You DO NOT want to put the oil filter between the oil tank and the engine. Trust me, you don't want the problems associated with that configuration. Dabear

Hi everyone, We have a YAK-52 in our club which has developed an intercom problem. As soon us one switches the intercom on, the circuit breaker/switch cuts out. Where is the intercom located in the YAK? Is it part of the radio? Thanks Karl Ahamer Australia -- 16/12/2006
