Consider the value of the initial batch of -52TW's in Euros to the present day
Euro price. Adjust for a large swing in USD-Euro exchange rate, normal inflation,
the claimed upgrades and improvements, and I can understand where the $285K
is coming from.
What this could mean to US owners is that their current Yaks are undervalued on
the European market while being fairly priced in the US market. Hence, I look
for an upswing in export sales. Same thing happened years ago when I sold a spammer
to a European customer who was cherry picking on the cheap.
One caveat, Euro re-certification favors "stock" aircraft as opposed to the modifications
we apply here in the US, opening up the possiblity that Yak parts are
worth more than the sum of the whole aircraft. Could someone pass me a flashlight
and wrenches please, I think I see a lonesome Yak tied down over there....

Yes sir! That 85 52 with it's new engine and the 78 50 with only 143 hours
total time are looking a whoooolllleeeee lot better! Considering you can
get the Dynon D10 for $2200 and D100 for $2400. The Garmin 430 can be had
for $ 6900 with installation hardware. Now I realize the cost of
manufacturing an airplane, but a $100,000 increase in one year is a bit
steep in my humble opinion!

What about the multi point fuel injection and electronic ignition listed as
improvements in the Yak 52 TW Mk II? Is there any info on this, who makes
it, where to get it and how it works?

I heard recently that the US government is trying to get China to revaluate
their yen upward. This is to not make the trade deficit look so lopsided, I
guess. The bottom line of this, is we will soon see prices for parts and
such from China start to climb also.
It is true that some airplanes are worth more in parts than whole. I know
personally of a Aztec (a #10 though and though) obtained from a bank repo,
will fetch nearly a third more parted out, than if sold whole. To bad in away.
But bottom line realities are just that sometimes. But at $285K a copy that
put the YAK TW up there with certified's and it is still coming in as
Experimental.

The only fuel injection system being put on M-14 P's is the one that is being put
on the M-14's powering the Radial Rocket kits. If my limited information is
correct. It costs $5000 and fits directly onto the carb mounts on the supercharger.
It requires a spring change on the fuel pump to keep the fuel flow at 35
psi. It is made and supplied by Airflow Performance.
Dennis Savarese and George Coy have more info on this system over and above what
I just said.
This system is not a multiport injection system though. So really, guess I did not
answer the multiport question though did I? The only fuel injection system
that I know of for the M-14 is this one supplied by airflow perfomance. It is
a pretty ingenious system from what I can tell so far.
Can't shead any enlightment on the electronic ignition. Would be nice to know who
and where that system comes from along with it's reliability.

Doc,
I am familiar with the Airflow injection which works much like the bendix
system for PW985 engines. It is a single point injection. The ad indicates
multiport injection and electronic ignition specifically. I would assume the
2
systems are married together. I have heard rumors of such systems being
underway but this is the first ad indicating it is available.

I need to correct the statement on the price of the injection system from Air
Performance. It lists for $3,736.
