Blitz,
You already have my feedback on the watch.
As for the tie, the only time I wear a tie is when I work and my tie is part
of a uniform. Thus it is safe to say I would not purchase an RPA tie.
Cheers,
Dan

Blitz,
Count me in for two of the watches (Blue face) - they look Great.
Additional two or three a strong possibility. I aim to "equip" the Miami
Squadron with these watches.
Thanks much,

Yesterday, you should have received an RPA E-Comm regarding a prospective
watch and neck tie that I'm evaluating for the online store. The issue is
simple. I need to know if there is sufficient member interest to warrant
stocking these items.
Unlike T-shirts, for example, the watch at $78 and the tie at $40 are
relatively high ticket items. The RPA's treasury cannot afford to stock such
items if there is little interest.
So, good, bad or indifferent, I need your feedback. Thanks for the help.
Thanks also to the 30 or so of you that have already responded.

Blitz,
I have a danged fine watch already. What's this one going to cost? As for
the tie, not bad looking. Could always wear it to church or the QB's
meeting. If we keep going on the formalization of the RPA fly-ins, well the
newbees may have to start wearing a coat and tie to Rush the units! That
would be a prime place for retailing the new RPA ties.

Gentlemen:
Due to unforeseen circumstances, was unable to attend the annual AYS fly-in.
No doubt Shane put on his usual outstanding clinic.
Could someone write up the activities, photos, etc. We would all enjoy the
information.
My Best,

Does anyone sell an actual rear canopy skirt seal kit for the CJ?
Are there pictures of said seal?
Or is it more of a "roll-your-own" kinda thing?
also... what's the best way to make/affix lightening hole covers for
holes in the CJ wheel wells?
Please keep in mind that I am a metal-fabrication-challenged
individual. (Although my A&P sez that I'm just a weenie!)
Pictures appreciated!

There have been a number of postings that identified a propeller shop
that would work on the J9-G1 propeller. My archive skills have not
produced the name of the shop. Thanks.

Where are you coming down from. Talk to Dennis Savarese about a CJ6. Know
of some that may be interested in your RV also.

Dave,
Unfortunately no one that I know of makes a "kit" to seal the rear
canopy skirt. Aircraft Spruce is the best source for the supplies.
Blitz Fox just did his, Blitz, you out there??
With respect to the holes in the wheel wells, alu inspection covers with
nut plates or riv nuts, screws and a foam seal work the best. I have
tried the heavy duty stainless steel tape and it works well if the
mating surfaces are 100% free of oil and junk. But this is not a "for
ever" fix and in about 10-20 hours it will develop problems because of
the flexing and will break and tear off. Your A&P is correct, get past
the wennie thing and buy the tools and get the job done, it isn't that
hard and you will find that it's fun too. If you don't want to make
your own inspection covers, there is a Cessna wing repair shop nearby
and I am sure they would have the covers, just give me a call and tell
me how many of each size you need.
CARPE DIEM my friend!
Always Yakin,
Doug

Here the source for the rubber seal. It's PN-05-01300.
http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/uchannel.php
Follow Doug Sapp's instructions for installantion. If brief, clean surfaces
thoroughly, apply good contact cement to the inside and outside edges of the
canopy skirt first, similarly apply cement to inside of the rubber seal. Wait a
few minutes. Using four hands, attach the seal to the skirt. It's a bit
dicey, but if I can do it anyone can. ...Blitz
