Blitz, You already have my feedback on the watch. As for the tie, the only time I wear a tie is when I work and my tie is part of a uniform. Thus it is safe to say I would not purchase an RPA tie. Blitz, I have a danged fine watch already. What's this one going to cost? As for the tie, not bad looking. Could always wear it to church or the QB's meeting. If we keep going on the formalization of the RPA fly-ins, well the newbees may have to start wearing a coat and tie to Rush the units! That would be a prime place for retailing the new RPA ties. Does anyone sell an actual rear canopy skirt seal kit for the CJ? Are there pictures of said seal? Or is it more of a "roll-your-own" kinda thing? also... what's the best way to make/affix lightening hole covers for holes in the CJ wheel wells? Please keep in mind that I am a metal-fabrication-challenged individual. (Although my A&P sez that I'm just a weenie!) Pictures appreciated! Dave Laird N63536 1983 CJ6A "Betty" Dallas

Dave, Unfortunately no one that I know of makes a "kit" to seal the rear canopy skirt. Aircraft Spruce is the best source for the supplies. Blitz Fox just did his, Blitz, you out there?? With respect to the holes in the wheel wells, alu inspection covers with nut plates or riv nuts, screws and a foam seal work the best. I have tried the heavy duty stainless steel tape and it works well if the mating surfaces are 100% free of oil and junk. But this is not a "for ever" fix and in about 10-20 hours it will develop problems because of the flexing and will break and tear off. Your A&P is correct, get past the wennie thing and buy the tools and get the job done, it isn't that hard and you will find that it's fun too. If you don't want to make your own inspection covers, there is a Cessna wing repair shop nearby and I am sure they would have the covers, just give me a call and tell me how many of each size you need. CARPE DIEM my friend! Here the source for the rubber seal. It's PN-05-01300. http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/uchannel.php Follow Doug Sapp's instructions for installantion. If brief, clean surfaces thoroughly, apply good contact cement to the inside and outside edges of the canopy skirt first, similarly apply cement to inside of the rubber seal. Wait a few minutes. Using four hands, attach the seal to the skirt. It's a bit dicey, but if I can do it anyone can. ...Blitz
