Group,
I have new metric tubing in stock - not truckloads, but I can be of
help. Regarding the flare tool, Walt is correct. However, the O.D. of
the tubing will not be held in place properly if you use the U.S. flare
tool. Metric flare tools are available. i will dig into the source
for these.
We have used the 5052 aluminum tubing successfully.
FYI: I offer a 5% discount off of list price on B&C Alternators when
you order from me.

In restoring the -55 fuel lines and such, I have been successful wrapping
the metric tubing with tape before flaring the artificially enlarged tubing
with a U.S. flaring tool. It's cheating, but it works. Don't go too thick
with the tape; else you'll crimp the tubing.

Swagelok for tube products.
www.swagelok.com
For the 6mm, use regular stainless or aluminum 1/4" tube.
Use a Swagelok 1/4 to 1/4 union (Part number: SS-400-6). $9.50
For 8mm use the Part number: SS-500-6 ($10.50)
They have metric reducing unions also but they are harder to get and more
expensive.
This fitting requires no tricky flares, but instead uses a patented double
ferrule.
All you do is cut your line clean, slide this on, turn it 1.25 revs and you
are done.
It squeezes down perfectly on the 6mm tube and makes a perfect connection to
the 1/4 tube section.
Swagelok products are not cheap, but of amazing quality.
Once you have used the no-flare "Tubelok" system you will never flare again.

Sean,
Try https://www.flyredstar.org Once you call up the website, go to the members roster. There you will find the country page followed by the region page. Click on the region and you will find the member names listed along with the state they are located in and an email address. Sorry no phone numbers listed, probably for privacy.
Hope this helps,
Doc

Jill;
Please note your comments apply to the 6mm tubing only. The standard
aircraft flaring tool works perfectly with the 8 mm tubing as the O.D. is
the same.
I did not suggest the use of the standard flare tool with the 6 mm tubing
though this can be done very successfully with an appropriate shim (I use a
piece of 400 grit wet-or-dry)
If you can obtain a metric aircraft standard flaring tool I would be
interested in purchasing one.
Industrial or Automotive units may be something other than 74 degs.

Hi Tom;
Swagelock is great but this is a temporary, get-it-home, fix. Once home
you replace the damaged tube, don't you?
Cheers;
Walt

I am about to produce a direct replacement brake cable for a Yak 52.
(the one that terminates at the forward control stick). The original
got pinched as it went through the floor. I can get a

Price is expected be $110 plus shipping. All components are AN hardware
and cable is SS.
Can you all help me with demand for an initial order? Reply to this
