Fantastic! Count me in. I will help any way I can. FLUSH ----- Original Message ----- From: cjpilot710@aol.com To: yak-list@matronics.com Sent: Friday, March 02, 2007 12:00 AM Subject: Yak-List: OSH 2008 Troops, For us CJ-6 owners and pilots, August 28, 1958, is a special date. On that day the prototype CJ-6 made its first flight. Last night at the RPA's BoD meeting I put up a motion, and it passed, to have a special celebration of the CJ-6 50th anniversary at the 2008 Oshkosh airshow. That the primary mission is not unlike our T-34 and AT-6/SNJ brethren, and that is to put 50 CJ-6s in the air over OSH. This is our association first chance to celebrated like our brethren Warbirds. Needless to say getting all this put together is going to require some help. I was appointed to chair the committee that will plan and carry out this "mission" along with one other BoD member, Dan Fountain. I am looking for others to help man this committee. Pay is the same as always, your blood, sweat, and, hopefully, satisfaction. We want to plan something that all our members (Yak guys too) will want to be part of. They will be spending a lot of money on fuel, lodging, and their aircraft to get there. We need to give them the best of reasons not to miss out on it. We have over a year to get our =98ducks=99 in order. We=99ll need every minute of it and we=99ll need the help of every member. I=99d very much like to have this committee formed up by the middle of this month (March). I=99d like to get one member from each of our regions if that is possible. I=99d like to get some ideas on the table to present to EAAWB folks at Sun&Fun in April or before. The EAAWB president is already onboard and meeting dates just need to be set up there. Besides the EAA part of the planning, we will need to work on the RPA operational side, i.e. who, what, when, where, and how. The logistics need to be coordinated so that the pilots need only to worry about their airplanes and the flying part of the mission. We need to make the cost to them as minimal as possible. It is a big job. I believe we didn=99t give this committee an =98official=99 name at the meeting, so let=99s call it the =9COSH 50=9D committee. You can send me a note if you want to serve. I believe we can pull this off ladies and gentlemen and make it truly a memorable event. And like any such event, it requires commitment. Jim =9CPappy=9D Goolsby Chairman - OSH 50 committee. . ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- AOL now offers free email to everyone.
