Subject: | Re: Aviation User Fees |
I think you are wrong. The FAA earmarked funds were poorly managed by the
FAA as well as Congress reached into it 10 years ago. Who's administration
was that under?
The Airlines have more money to pass to their lobbiest so we the smaller
orgainization get the short stick! That being all we have is the AOPA and
EAA talking for us. If Bill Moyer at AOPA is correct, this can be done
without the increase. It just means some of the Great Social Experiment's
social give away programs have to be funded from elsewhere. I'm for if you
get government check and you are under the retirement age (read "disabled"),
then you have to submit to urine drug test randomly.
Nuff politics,
Support the AOPA and EAA in this endeavor along with let your congressmen
know what you think of USER FEES! If they hear from enough of us they may
actually be convinced that a single vote can count.

This is the Bush administration "paying off" debts they owe to big
money......simple answer.

I have also seen a news report that "user fees" may include up to 50 cents a

whole subject boils my blood:
- The airline lobby goes out of their way to stick it to GA, and our elected
officials of both parties buy this garbage.
- I thought this White House was fiscally conservative: that being a deep
conviction against new taxes.
- Why can't the APOA and EAA get together on this and present a united
front?
- Has anyone (agency) documented that ther even is a problem with FAA
funding?

Do you know what the cost of this event will be? And what is included?
The RPA site didn't tell me much as I'm not a member.

Subject: Yak-List: SC Texas Fly-In
Formation qualified or not, even if your Yak, CJ or L-29/39 is down
for MX
or in the paint shop (bring the Cessna), If you live in OK, KS, LA or
TX, or
anywhere in the SouthCentral region, the RPA is sponsoring a
Fly-In/meet and
greet and "future central event" planning session for May 10-13th at a
field
"near Dallas" ( inquotations as the Texans are scrubbing a few local
airports in the area). Come on out and lets hear your ideas....
We realize it is Mother's Day weekend (Sun), so even if you can show
for a
day, or must depart Saturday afternoon, come on out. We found a very
talented free lance aviation photographer (or really he found us) who
will
mail you frameable shots of your warbird at no cost except postage
(RPA will
cover his supplies).
I've recieved several requests for something in Texas over the years,
a
region with ample membership; if you would like to see an annual
event,
please attempt to fly out for this local meet and greet. If you are
new to
formation ops and interestd in getting started, this is a great
opportunity
to see where the program is heading (should be plenty of empty seats
for an
observation flight if desired)
We will:
- Have a discussion group/plans session on dates and locations for a
proposed annual event
- Conduct a formation ground school and overview of the new formation
manual
tools
- Conduct form flight training, rec rides and evals as required
- Have fun, meet who's who in this area...
Date, Location and Registration:
The event is listed on the Fly-In page at www.flyredstar.org
<http://www.flyredstar.org/> as the SC/texas fly-in, please register
online, its free, and insures we have an accurate head count and
contact
info...
Fly-ins are the best fun you can have as a warbid owner, if you live
in this
area, drop by and be counted in support of this annual event
concept...
