We just completed our first wet wing modification for a standard Yak-52.
9 gallons per side which pump into the mains. We can go farther
outboard for not a whole lot more labor.
We're quoting the second system at $6500.
E-mail me for more information and pictures!
Cheers,
Cliff

Everyone:
I'm based at MRT (Union County Airport, Marysville Ohio) 31 miles
northwest of Rickenbacker Int. Airport, the GML2007 (Gathering of
Mustangs and Legends) location. MRT has plenty of ramp space and
possible a few community hanger spots for the first transients who call
and reserve. There are inexpensive hotels in the Marysville area.
There's also maintenance on site at MRT and they may allow camping, tent
and/or trailer but there are no power/water hookups or access to
bathrooms 24/7.
The GML2007 event is Thursday Sept. 27 thru Sunday Sept. 30. Contact me
offline and if there's enough interest, I can see about hosting a hanger
party at MRT with some of the other local YAK/CJ pilots in the area on
Friday Evening, Sept. 28th.
I've asked the event coordinators about GA aircraft flying in
individually and as a group to LCK and have yet to get a response. I'll
post an answer when I find out. I've already been told there will be no
camping, etc at the GML2007 location (LCK).
On Sat. and Sun. I'll be working "ramp patrol" at GML2007 from 8am to
1pm. If weather permits, I intend on flying my YAK to LCK each day from
MRT.

You know, we often hear from men who were involved in the air war
over Europe but it seems to me that we rarely hear that much from men
involved in the air war in the Pacific. I would love to hear the
stories from the men who flew the SBD and the F6F.

Termikas gets an extra 80 litres (17.6 imperial gallons) per SIDE from their
wet wings, priced about the same.

Expect about 2 weeks roll-in to roll-out.

Cliff,
I had Anabaras in Lithuania do a wet wing mod for me when they did my plane.
It leaked like hell form the day I got it to the point where I simply
disconnected it. Liutauras at Anabaras would not even email me back. They
also simply ran a vent line from the main aluminum tank about 3/4 of the way
up into the new wet wing. Fuel would leak into the wet wing when the main
was full and leak out.
Do you have any type of liquid sealer that you can recommend and a method
to apply it? Thanks,
Cy Kissling Stuart Fl

That's like comparing apples and oranges. It may cost the same when the
airplane is already in Lithuania. But if it's not in Lithuania, there IS no
comparison. Let's see - approximate cost to ship a set of wings in a
container to LT from the US is now around $5K+ each way. Plus $6500 for the
wet wing conversion. Plus if Cliff does the conversion, you can bet they
will stand behind the conversion. Not that Termikas won't. But who's going
to do the repair? Most likely......Cliff Coy. :-)

I cannot make the show but what is Stallion 51 considered to be. The last
time I looked they are a civilian owned company flying an ex-military
aircraft. Are you saying no YAKs or CJ's can fly into the either? Or, are
you saying no Pipers, Cessena's or Beech aircraft will be allowed at
Rickenbacker?
Just curious? I would love to make the trip up but other issues demand my
time but I may well try to clear the calender.
Smokey, you up for a XC in the Vipers?

Unless the FAA closes the field for three days, they cannot prevent you from
landing.
I may just go to the Lee Bottom fly-in instead. Very cool gathering!

NO General Aviation aircraft (except those invited to the GML2007) will be
allowed to fly into LCK during the convention (Sept 27th-Sept 30th). There
will be NOTAMS and a TFR issued concerning the airspace. This information
comes directly from the organizers of the event. If you want to discuss thi
s with them, please call Mark Mulcahey 614-851-9900, press option #2. Mark
is the Logistics coordinator for the event and the airport manager at TZR (
