Hi,,,
anyone out there contemplating selling spare chutes? Looking to outfit my cj for
the spring. will need something that is repackable and useable.

Look at the Strong and National parachute website. They sometimes have used
chutes and if you get it from them you will be guaranteed that all the ADs
have been complied with.

I have a National and would never buy another. It is just too painful
to sit on.
Alan Silver usually knows where there are good used 'chutes
available. See:

He even has a spot on his web site where you can sign up for a used
'chute when one becomes available.

This topic is officially back alive...
My generator has not been tripping off correctly at low RPM (Reverse Current).
I installed a new Carbon Pile Regulator with no change.
Installed a spare DMR-200D (S/n: 1361243) "Combined Device" and the problem actually
got worse, where the battery would dead short at shut down. (Thanks a
lot Bill!)
I opened my original Combined Device (S/n: 1861584) and cleaned the points which
looked grody. Also started messing with the adjustments.

There are 2 adjustments on the "Teter-Toter". One to adjust the relative position
of the contacts, the other I have no idea but it would be convenient if it
adjusted the thing that doesn't work.

Subject: | New CJ Canopy Glass |
We have two long-suffering French RPA members who have been struggling to
import two CJs from China for several years. Looks like it's finally going to
happen no thanks to the French authorities.
They are interested in installing new tinted canopies and are familiar LP
Aero Plastics in Jeanette, PA, but wonder if anyone out there knows of other good
sources. Please let me know.

What airplane are you putting it on? I have an Iris (Yak-50) and have yet to figure
out how to control it. Mine is fixed for now but I have NEVER had an issue
with temps...even in the summer.
I do not have the original controls for the louvers so I am starting over...

I had one on my CJ when I first put the M-14p on. I didn't like it. First
even when closed my engine was to cool. It raddled, looked awful because the
paint was always scratched and was not "typical" of the CJ's looks. It
seemed to "belong" to the Sukoys and such. Not the Yaks or CJs
I got rid of it after a couple years.

Why keep messing with the generator? It is heavy and prone to
failure. Why not just switch to an alternator and be done with the
problems? The switch is easier on the M14 as there is already a seal
for the generator shaft coupling. Is it because there is not a dirt-
cheap, bolt-on solution?

B&C works extremely well and is very expensive. Most of the other
conversion I have seen are GM truck alternators. They work really
well and are dirt cheap once you weld the spline coupling onto the
alternator shaft.
