Dave I make these out of a 1/2" thick rubber block, and size them to donut shape so they will hold inside the fitting. Rather than a brass sleeve, I use a piece of steel bushing stock, pressed in. To install into the mount, lube the donut and press in sideways at first and then use a clamp to squeeze between two plates on either side of the mount. If I get a chance I'll make a batch and put 'em up on my website but I think I'm out of bushing stock. Craig Payne cpayne@joimail.com

    From: "Craig Winkelmann, CFI" <capav8r@gmail.com>
Fellow RPAers: If you are an EAA Warbird member, don't you just get tired of seeing T-6, P-51, B-24, B-17, etc, etc pics month after month. I do. EAA Warbird magazine is having a photo contest. Last year they only had an entry or two for each category and some of the winning pics were pathetic. So, let's show em what Red Star planes look like this time around!! See page 32 of Dec 2007 issue for all the rules. Pics must have been taken between March 1, 2006 and Feb 28, 2008. Also, the photographer must be an EAA Warbird member and an amateur photographer (that's almost all of us). Categories are Air-to-Air, Ground-to-Air, Ground-to-Ground and People. Waycross will be a perfect event to capture many of our fine aircraft right before the deadline. Bring cameras and lots of memory sticks!! Hey folks... I'm in the process of redoing and repainting both my cockpits in my CJ. Right now I'm trying to select a paint for the side panels and the instrument panels. Since I have a lousy imagination when it comes to color, I would be interested to see what else there may be out there besides battle ship gray. I would love to see any pictures you have of your cockpits and colors if you'd like to share!!! Thanks Larry N8181C Larry Pine ---------------------------------

Actually, with the ADC you can install a -12 hose with out any welding. All you need is two fittings and you can convert it to US hose. I have the fitting and I think Cliff Coy has them too. I have pictures if anyone needs them. Kregg Victory -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of Dale Sent: Sunday, January 20, 2008 9:06 PM Subject: Yak-List: Re: ADC Oil Filter Don't remember right now what the # is but all you need is the adapter and a bracket. It is not the Gorilla but a standard with large fittings. Airwolf sells a kit for the Yak but the hoses and clamps are too large and useless as far as I am concerned adding extra cost, as I remember you need -10 hoses and fittings and Airwolf sent -12 with slip on hoses and clamps. There is only 15 psi on the output. You might well make your own kit up using a different spin on filter plate also. The Champion filter has the correct bypass setting for what you need. I originall set all the information to Airwolf as they requested so it could be passed on. You will need to make your own fittings and the photo's I included show how I went from US back to Metric using the same hoses and brackets. The scavenge line from the engine needs to be angled back slightly to clear the engine mount. In the photo it is hard to see it so before finish welding I suggest a trial fit with the hose assemble c! omplete. If anyone is truly interested I can do a complete How To. It seems every one has there own idea how to do it. I have 140 hours on my install. Both ADC and Airwolf supply -12 fittings with their kits. That is the correct size for the Huosai or M14 installation and virtually identical in size to the original hose. ADC supply either metric or AN fittings for installation with complete hose assemblies rather than hose & clamp style. Larry, I remember seeing some great pics of Ray Stallings' CJ that had this really cool russian fighter blue/green.... I found a clip of it on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MvFUsvnBD7s At the very end of the clip the camera guy shows the aft cockpit pretty well... just an idea. Hi Walt If the -12 is the same size how do you account for the picture of the -10 fittings I have connected to the Yak parts in the photo I posted? And the hose Airwolf supplied me with including the fittings are still on the shelf unused. I used a micrometer to measure the ID of the line and the fittings. The hose Airwolf supplied me with was big enough to slip over the OD of the Yak fittings! I might have been duped from the start. Below is a rerun of the e-com we sent out earlier on the university dorms and the contact numbers. _________________________________________________________________________ _______ Where to stay? There are a number of places and you can get a list from EAA, BUT we'd like to suggest the University of Wisconsin dorms. First they are very inexpensive (2 Beds per room @ $50.00/ night) and very convenient to many of our planed activities. Second, transportation is a big bonus because there is direct bus services from the dorms to EAA=99s main gate at $5.00 round trip. However! We are planning to have our own buses take us to & from the dorms directly to our aircraft saving us a :20 minute walk. Third, there are a number of nice restaurants with-in very short walks of the dorms. Forth, we have arranged with UW to have all our rooms together on the same floor and in the same building. Many EAAers like =9Cdoing the dorms=9D. The room are not unlike a military billet. Two beds, 2 chairs, 2 decks, 2 dressers, a refrigerator, a microwave, and (maybe) Internet service. You get 2 sheets, 1 blank, 1 pillow case, and 1 towel & wash cloth. There is no air conditioning (sorry those rooms sold-out 2 hours after they opened). You may be want to buy a cheap fan or do like most of us and sleep with the door and window open! Oh yes, the johns and showers are down the hall. Want to stay at the dorm? A one night=99s deposit of $50.00 is due on or before March 15th. If you make a reservation and not pay the deposit by than, you lose your reservations. If you need to cancel out, you'll get a refund if you do so BEFORE June 15. After that date, you lose your deposit. By the way, if you have already signed up for the dorms rooms on the RPA web site, you will still need to contact UW for the reservations. All we've done is let them know how many rooms they can expect plus RPA needs to provide them with a final roster by July 15th. Here is the contact stuff for reservations. Phone UW: (920)-424-3226 or (920)-424-0388 and even uwoeaa@mio.uwosh.edu. They will accept all credit cards except Discover Card. Make sure you tell them you're with the RPA. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape in the new year.

Yawl sound off on your situation now. As temperatures plunged deep into the 40's this morning, I had to wait until the afternoon thaw to shovel 6 inches of sunshine away from the hanger door :>) Sun 'n Fun is just around the corner; I'll be looking for Yawl here then. Hi Dale; I honestly don't know the answer to that though some possibilities come to mind. 1. Could be I have made an incorrect assumption that the Yak is the same as the CJ in this respect. Would not be the first time! 2. I have not installed an Airwolf unit, just the ADC's and since I make my own hose assemblies have not had occasion to order hose with the units. Any possibility that Airwolf supplied the hose size for the R1340 (-16) rather than -12?? I checked your photos but can not determine hose or fitting size. The hose they sent you should have the designation on it. If it is Aeroguip 303 or Stratoflex 111 (MIL-H-3794) it will show the size as a dash number (-10, -12 etc.). If it is MIL-H-6000 it will show a fractional size (5/8, 3/4 etc.). The approximate actual ID for the -10 is about 1/2" and for the -12 about 5/8". Corrections, etc to below; MIL-H-3794 should read -8794. The actual ID for the MIL-H-6000 is the fractional size shown. This is a low pressure hose with no steel mesh reinforcement and is intended for use in short, clamped sections joining rigid pipelines.
