Subject: | Re: Yak-50 Aux tanks |
Hi Cliff,
We can do an extension of the aux. tank that adds 7 gallons and is
pretty straight forward. Beyond that it would be a more major
project. The range with that configuration is about 300 nm based on
the experience with my -50.
If someone is willing to donate an aircraft for 6 months and pay for
the R&D costs, we'll do it. We have access to experienced aerospace
engineers and a fantastic sheet metal guy on staff. It is a long
process to do it correctly and with the limited Yak-50 market, it
unfortunately does not make any sense for us to swallow the
costs....we'll never get them back.
With our current work schedule we'll be unable to start another
project like that for at least 6 months, but it could be a good
winter project if someone is interested.
Cheers,
Barry

Great job and many speed mods. Does this make it the fastest CJ6 in the
world?
Must be faster than the ones in Florida?
Canopy looks great.
Nice job.

Great event down in Waycross. It sure was fun to get to see old friends an
d
meet some new ones as well.
I was the last to leave and found a left handed black leather glove and a
black lumbar support from a chute.
Please let me know if you left either of these down there and I=B9ll get them
to you.
Fly safely,
Jay

TIM, the 50 is a hard airplane to let go of. I am considering selling be
cause I'm not flying it as much as I would like to. If it had longer leg
s I'd fly more often; this landing every two hours is a deterrent to lon
ger trips, plus, I do have the A-36 but that's boring compared to the 5
0.

Cliff,
