I am sorry to be pedantic - but there is no such thing as the 18R. The
history is briefly:
a.. Yak-18 first flew in 1945, with 160hp 5-cylinder engine.
b.. Yak-18U - nose wheel version in production 54 - 57.
c.. Yak-18A - was transformed by having the 260hp 9-cylinder, and
still with nose wheel. Produced from 57 - 61.
d.. Yak-18P - was a single seat version of the 18A, flown from the
front seat. A few only were built in 1959. They also had a new
undercarriage, with inward retraction. Production later increased, and
in 61 - 62 125 aircraft were built.
e.. Yak-18PM - was a further modification of 1965, with a 300hp
engine, and flown from the rear cockpit. The PM dominated the 1966
World Championship, and 25 aircraft were built between 70 and 71.
f.. Yak-18PS - was a lightweight PM, with the original Yak-18
undercarriage (like a Yak-50), and this competed in the 70 and 72 World
Championships. It looks very similar to a Yak-50.
g.. Finally the Yak-18T is somewhat of a misnomer, since it has
nothing in common with the earlier 18's.
h.. Sadly, the vast majority of these aircraft were destroyed by the

Delaware is certainly an option, low fees and taxes, protective of their clients
and they (sect of states office) will answer the phone when you call them on
issues. Talk to your accountant (or find one who is experienced in this area)
- on some of the issues to remain out of the IRS's hairy eyeball, such as years
of profit and loss over time.
Here is one delaware registry company that has displayed good customer service
and answers the phones, this link takes you to the aircraft section:
https://www.delreg.com/air.cfm
Here is the government site:
http://www.delaware.gov/egov/portal.nsf/portal/Business
Hope this helps, no info on loan rates. But talk to your accountant (not pilots
;) and if you are going to set up a business that requires this asset, certainly
do this before you purchase the asset your name.
good luck

Gang,
We will post pics of the rudder pedal mod on our new web site soon. I
currently have nearly a dozen orders and will be making a production
run in our machine shop shortly. They will be milled out of billet
aluminum. If you're interested in being part of this batch. Let me
know. Again, cost is $250/set. Nets 4" of leg extension and is simple
to install.

Well, lo and behold the Yak rudder pedal design is substantially
similar to the CJ rudder pedal design. This means our "Your legs will
thank you" mod is available for Yaks as well. Soooo....we are now
accepting orders for the Yaks. If you are a -50 or -52 driver and want
approx. 4" extra leg room, let me know and I will add you to our
quickly growing list. We will have the prototype machined piece
(original proof of concept pieces were welded) on Friday and should be
able to spit out a production run next week.
Email me off list to place your order.
Thanks!

Of course he/they did. Actually, they were already making Yak-18
rudder pedal assemblies and just used them. They did the same with a
lot of accessories too. Seems sensible to me that, if you are already
making that subassembly for something else, you may as well use it
over again.
I used to have a Lotus Europa S2. Everything in that car came from
some other car. One could go down and order a lower outboard u-joint
for a Lotus Europa S2, pay $100, and then wait three weeks for it to
get there. On the other hand, one could order a u-joint for a Volvo
122, pay $12, and have the guy behind the counter just hand it to you
right then.
And, funny thing, in spite of the parts interchangeability, no one
seemed to think that the Lotus Europa was a Volvo 122 or a Triumph
Spitfire (the front axle/brake assembly was from a Spitfire).

Pappy,
He wasn't gettin' any down there and it all backed up into his brain.
It is a common problem. We just need to feel sorry for ol' Doug and
