Subject: | Re: Rudder Pedal Mod |
Barry,
Ref your question - spacer in the rudder pedal on the -52 was put there
to prevent the rudder from hitting the spar. Is that correct, Dennis?
I removed mine years ago and have not found the rear rudder pedal
hitting the main spar at all. That may or may not hold true for all
52's. I'd suggest a person wanting to improve the rudder adjustment
travel length in the rear cockpit remove the spacer and check for
clearance between the rear of the rudder pedals and the main spar when
fully deflected. An alternative would be to shorten the spacer and
reinstall. By shortening the spacer by about 75%, the rudder adjustment
will increase, but may prevent the rudder pedals from hitting the main
spar.

how about a mod for the rear peddles?
Hi Forrest,
Works the same for the front and the back. First set came off the
machine last night...we will be doing destructive testing on the first
few sets to ensure adequate strength....our guess is they'll fail around
1200#.
Also, I'm not an expert on the -52, but it was my understanding that
the spacer in the rudder pedal on the -52 was put there to prevent the
rudder from hitting the spar. Is that correct, Dennis?
Great day for flying here!
Cheers,
Barry

Subject: | Central Florida Formation Clinic in March |
Folks,
An Ecom went out on this this AM:
Sam Sax, Terry Lewis and other South Florida folks have really pitched in effort
to set up what will surely become an annual RPA fly-in for the central florida
area. The final location has been adjusted to Okeechobee Airport as the management
was very motivated to see this annual gig at his airport. Dates are
March 7-9 and make for a great pre-SunnFun train up.
Student, Wing, Lead, Lead Upgrade, or just curious on what goes on at these clinics, please register at www.flyredstar.org by clicking "Fly-Ins" and looking for Okeechobee.
RPA needs a few backseat IPs for this event - if this is something you would
like to do, please fly in the afternoon of March 7 or morning of the 8th. If your
with an airline, we can arrange a pick up from Tampa/St Pete or other location
(KPBI, etc.).
Thanks!!

This BS has been floating all over the internet masquerading as a new NAVY
Stealth UCAV. Go rent the movie "Stealth" from your local movie CD supplier
of choice. It is a BS movie about a UCAV that goes maverick. A popular theme
for Hollywood leftist! It is all BS.
Although, it does look like something the Navy would buy and fly though! Go
ugly early!
