I bid and was the high bidder on two previous auctions that he had on this same engine. He would not respond to my emails after the auction ended either time. Now he is apparently saying that I didn't pay on the first auction (I didn't meet the reserve.) However, I did attempt to contact him to see how much more he wanted. He would not reply or return my phone calls. He also claims his second auction got hijacked. This is not true, at least from my perspective. The auction terminated normally with me as the high bidder. > > He may be legit but I would be very wary about dealing with him. > > Ray Stallings I've bought and sold cars, boats, engines, and planes on e bay without a hitch, but it seems M14s on ebay are ripe for scams. Just listed my M14 as a core after a prop strike. Sat with very few bids until the last 5 minutes then in a flurry of activity the bidding went up to a price that < to me, was unreasonably high for an engine that needed at least a teardown and inspection. Several of the interested bidders were from the Yak, M14, and Murphy Moose lists.. The high bidder was a name I did not recognize with a poor feedback record. Alan Davidson (usr_ad is his e bay name) of Chantilly Virginia. He really got innappropriate and of course did not pay. His feedback profile suggested he would behave exactly as he did. I wouldn't be surprised if he (whoever he really is) played a role in the last M14 fiasco on e bay. -------- Milt 2003 F1 Rocket 2006 Radial Rocket Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=167995#167995 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 07:29:25 AM PST US From: Herb Coussons Subject: Re: Yak-List: -55 sight device I might be willing to part with one. I have two, one on each wing. I have always used the pitot on the left as the sole sight reference also. I bought two with the intention of putting one on the left and selling the other one. I was talked into putting both on the plane. I want to fly with both into this spring, then decide if I ever need to look to the right. Sergei teaches sight pictures straight ahead or to the left only so that is what I am used to. They would be easy to make if you can weld. I would be happy at the least to ship you one next fall to use as a template, I might try to weld one up, and I can always take detailed photos if you want. Troop Lodging Troops It is fast approaching (believe it or not) the time to start making some plans for Oshkosh 2008. In December we (RPA) arranged for rooms at the University of Wisconsin for those who will be staying in the dorms there. The university will be setting aside all our rooms together in the same buildin g and same floor. The rooms will cost $50.00 per night. These are standard college dorms. N o private baths (their just down the hall) and no air-conditioning. You will get 2 sheets, 1 pillow case, 1 towel, 1 wash cloth , and 1 blanket. (Just like the military. Remember that?) For those who have never =98done the dorms=98, there is a very n ice inexpensive cafeteria open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food is excellent really. There is public transport (bus) going to straight the EAA main gat e from 0630 until 2300 ($5./roundtrip or $20 for the week=98s pass). There are a couple of nice restaurants with-in walking distance. A lot of EAAers really love the dorms. You will need to go to the RPA web site (_http://www.flyredstar.org/_ (http://www.flyredstar.org/) ) to the Fly-in section and look for : OSH08 Part 2 Dorm Lodging Only. You can go to the UoW and reserve a room under the RPAs name. Phone 920-424-3226 or 920-424-0388 or _uwoeaa@mio.uwosh.edu_ (mailto:uwoeaa@mio.uw osh.edu) We are also getting our own (RPA) bus to make the trip right to our airplanes each morning and back to the dorms in the evening. So get to it guys. Time is a wasting. Jim =9CPappy=9D Goolsby _Cjpilot710@aol.com_ (mailto:Cjpilot710@aol.com) In a message dated 3/6/2008 9:28:25 P.M.
