We haven't talked about the "A" - "B" power setting scenario for a while. "Take the power levers "A" (throttle and prop) push them as far forward as humanly possible and...Let them BE" This method has gotten nearly 900 hours so far on my SU-29 with a Wolf oil filter, no MMO on any kind of consistent basis, and a dam built just aft of the carb to get more high pressure "unfiltered air" into the carb. Never been overheated or abused, oil changes still every 25 hours Phillips 25 - 60 XC. And where did this "square - over-square - under square" Voodo get started anyway? Can you explain to a College Educated Idiot what this has to do with engines, especially blown or turbo charged ones? Remember when we all drinking the "purple cool-aid" and leaning rich of peak? Now the manufacturers are telling us - lean of peak on their watch. There are those of you who know an unbelievable amount of engineering - seriously - I love to read your techno stuff. Respectfully "run 'em hard" (cause they like it) - Rick > [Original Message] > From: Cpayne > To: yak-list > Date: 4/19/2008 4:42:12 PM > Subject: Yak-List: Re:M-14P Engine life > > > Engine life? > > Not More Power? What a novel idea! Don't forget to add an oil filter and an air intake filter. The oil filter stops the really little particles from chewing up the engine and the air filter prevents some of those particles (dirt) from getting in. Pre-oilers and pre-heaters are great items in cool climates as most wear occurs during start-up. > Keep temps within operating ranges also, there is good reason why air show engines need frequent overhauls. > > CJ owners can install the Bracket BE-197 filter and have ample room to install an oil filter. I have a oil filter design that might fit the -TW, but need to investigate further. > > Craig Payne > > ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 03:43:19 PM PST US From: "Michael Beach" Subject: Yak-List: RE: wheel bearing No Does anyone have the wheel bearing part no's for the CJ6 main & nose. We are in constant need of shutter maintenence/repalcement. In a message dated 4/20/2008 6:38:39 P.M.
