Therefore with 10 aircraft that 10qts per hour of flying. Make a WAG at the numbers of hours you might fly during the show than add an hour for arrival needs and an hour for departure needs. This will give you a close number. At this time of year 100 or 50 wt is a good all around oil. If you feel it will be a little warmer get the 120/60wt. Quiz those who are going if they are using 25W60, turn it into a percentage and have that as part of the total. Like Flush, a lot of guys will buy the extra. The FBO will not have a whole bunch left to hold. That's I did. Hope that's a help. Jim "Pappy" Goolsby I use AeroShell 120 which is 60 wt. Stays in the engine better than 50 wt. If you have 10 airplanes coming figure 4 quarts per airplane per day and you'll be safe. Hope this helps. Have had some issues with our radio recently. I e ncountered issues whereby I couldn't transmit but could still receive. At t he airshow we were at, we swapped transmittors with a fellow '52 pilot and found the comms were fine, just wondering how much are these transmittors, and the radio unit itself, in the US? We have limited sources here in New Z ealand. Can anyone shed any light, or personal opinions of the yak 50. Are the dram as with all these service bulletins really a big pain in the butt to get on e of these types registered and certified or is it not such a big deal? I u nderstand they eng/airframe life is significantly limited compared to the ' 52. They were issued after some vital accidents (Gomljajev f.i.). I am on an airfield with three Yak 52's, and in my humble opinion, a Yak 52 seems to be stronger built than a Yak 50. Although I think that my Yak 50 is a good one out of the remaining few, I have much more work to keep it flying than my fellow Yak 52 collegues. But if you've ever flown a Yak 50 than you know it's worth all that effort !
