    Richard: We can only hope that the Russians are correct in that the Chinese want to copy the M-14PF. It would, hopefully, be as great source of parts and engines since the Russians can't seem to get their act together. In addition, for the Chinese, it would be a way to ensure they have a source of parts and engines for the Yak-152K whenever they start producing and flying it.     Subject: Different Props for Housai

    Has anyone put a different prop on a Housai. It would seem as though a 3-bladed composite prop would add some nice climb performance to the CJ with a Housai.     Craig, Reports are that the Chinese three blade will cost you about 5 kts and 5K (for a used one). Let me know if you want one. I have a customer who bought one and flew it for only 7-8 hours and went back to the two blade because it was faster. Sexy yes, faster no. As far as the Chinese building 360 or 400 hp engines for the new CJ7, yes it is true they are being licensed to do so. But IMHO you and I will not live long enough to see overhauled engines cycle through thier system, reach a point of excess and be offerd to the US market at a price point compareable to the Russian engines. Considering that the Chinese feel that a new HS6A is worth in excess of 45K right now, one can only guess that a new Chinese P or PF would cost. See yall at OSH.     Craig, You can buy a surplus aircraft with a 0 time engines? I can't find them for around 40K? 50K maybe. Most of the aircraft imported latley are timed out by Chinese standards, engine 500 hours, and airframe @ 3800 to 4000 hours. If you want a 500 hour engine there is no need to go to all that bother, they are all over the US for 3-4K. No unfortunatly the days of the 10K 285 is long gone. If you can buy one for 15 to 18K take my advice and do it, 2 years or less you will thank me. M14P's are pushing 25K and the rmb is still gaining strength aginst the dollar. They are talking about par by Christmas, you do the math.
