Second, Doug, yes LP has the full set of stock CJ canopies. Third, George should already have our Yak-52 Malcom Hood prototype to make a mold from. We did not like the QC of our previous supplier so we have switched to LP for all of our canopies including: -CJ 6 Malcom Hood -CJ 6 One piece rear -Yak-52 Malcom Hood As Jill mentioned, along with being THE OEM aircraft plexi provider, they also have the UV blocking tint which reduces internal temperatures by as much as 30 percent. If you would like to order any of the above, please contact me directly. The shield becomes dented or kinked and each dent or kink adds to the friction placed on the cable, soon it becomes stiff and unusable. If the dent or kink is within the travel range of the end rods the assembly qiuckly becomes nearly unusable. The outer shield or tube can be easily replaced with std copper tubing of the correct size. I built one up from scratch for the mini yak and I think I used 7/16 copper tubing. If you do need the cable assembly it's doable by contacting the McFarlane company. They can swage the SS rods onto the cable but at that time they did not have the tooling to cut the metric threads on the rod ends. Like many jobs getting the part out to work on it is 99% percent of the battle, this one is no different, you will be talking to yourself before you get the control R&R'd, so do it on a day when you have your midget contortionist buddy visiting your hanger. Or maybe wait until the circus comes to town to recruit some help. Hope this helps. Could not find any binding in the tubes forward of the front cockpit controls. The binding was bwtween the front cockpit and rear, somebody had tightened the control lock in the rear and moving the front bent the tubes between the two. My advise is to remove the rear control lock knob. ----- Original Message ----- From: doug sapp To: yak-list@matronics.com Sent: Saturday, October 04, 2008 10:19 AM Subject: Re: Yak-List: command push pull cables Cy, Most of the time the problem is not with the inner cable assembly, the problem is caused by the soft copper shield/tube which the cable assembly runs in.
