It is not the original design for the 260 HP Huosai 6. The one you are referring to is the most common modification and was, I believe, designed and installed by the PLAAF. Whether that was later adopted and installed at the factory I don't know. I recall a conversation with Doug Sapp some time ago about new cowlings he received from China with a "different" air intake. They were exactly the same as yours. Your aircraft is the only one I have seen with that intake system which should be an improvement over the original but maybe not as good as the military modification.
