Hi,
I am looking for ideas how to install a SA201 smoke system from Smoking
Airplanes in a Yak 50.
I am very interested how to install the full 56 pounds tank installation
securely.
An idea is to install it on the battery shelf behind the cockpit, the
old Russian battery in my airplane has been replaced with lightweight
western batteries.
Does anyone know how heavy the old Russian battery was? Or if this shelf
is sturdy enough to take the weight under G?

Welcome to community.
I'm also a new CJ owner. I look forward to everybodies responses as well.
I wish I had to EDM unit! My single cylinder unit always shows low temps and I
usually run the gills nearly fully closed. Oil temps are also below the green
arc unless the cooler door is nearly closed.
My (uneducated) cruise setting is 26" in and about 2100 rpm. Yields about 140
kts GS.

Ummm....
I have seen some very accurate to scale model airplanes with a thrust to
weight ratio that exceeds the best full scale aerobatic aircraft out
there.
No question that this is one very cool headed pilot. My question
however is, was the pilot in the cockpit, or was he standing on the
ground with a radio control set in his hands?
Look at the video VERY carefully. Hint: Look carefully at the actual
"landing". Length of roll, how the aircraft "bounces", etc. Nothing
bent, nothing broken, no huge flex on the gear legs.
Just thinking out loud... .

It's apparently part of viral video campaign for a German apparel manufacturer
(the sponsor on the plane). I think 5 (non-pilot) people have forwarded it to
me today.
Here's video of another large scale RC plane doing the same trick:

According to those who've commented on the YouTube site, it's a fake.

The airplane spins the wrong way after the wing comes off. (Minor detail) [Rolling

Unbelievable FAKE Airmanship
Hello All.
Please see Jon's explanation below.
Evidently the 'Unbelievable Airmanship' video I eagerly rushed out to
everyone was a complete fake.
Please see Jon's explanation below.
I will try to control myself the next time I see something so stunning.
After looking at it again, you can see it is a model in the air.
Explanation:
Funny that you would send this to me today... last nite I neighbor told me
about it. He and I have both flown this type of plane, and he was
naturally curious to learn more about it. He finally discovered that it's a
fake. It was staged with a radio-controlled plane that looks exactly like
the real thing. The "producers" did a clever job of blending the landing of
the radio-controlled version into that of the real plane on roll-out.
Thanks for sending it... I was curious to see it after he told me about it.
