Subject: What's My Contribution Used For?
Dear Listers, Some have asked, "What's my Contribution used for?" and that's a good question. Here are just a few examples of what your direct List support enables. It provides for the very expensive, commercial-grade T1 Internet connection used on the List insuring maximum performance and minimal contention when accessing List services. It pays for the regular system hardware and software upgrades enabling the highest performance possible for services such as the Archive Search Engine, List Browser, and Forums. It pays for 19+ years worth of online archive data available for instant random search and access. And, it offsets the many hours spent writing, developing, and maintaining the custom applications that power this List Service such as the List Browse, Search Engine, Forums, Wiki and PhotoShare. But most importantly, your List Contribution enables a forum where you and your peers can communicate freely in an environment that is free from moderation, censorship, advertising, commercialism, SPAM, and computer viruses. How many places on the Internet can you make all those statements these days? It is YOUR CONTRIBUTION that directly enables these many aspects of these valuable List services. Please support it today with your List Contribution. Its one of the best investments you can make in your Sport... Subject: Regarding Barry Hancock's posting
Hi Barry, thank you very much for blackmailing me. My wife asked me (against my better judgment) to straighten out some things, so here we go. First of all Barry, my first name is ELMAR. It is derived from a Scandinavian name and has nothing to do with your American version ELMER. Secondly, half of the people here in British Columbia are connected to Shaw Cable, hence the email extension @shaw.ca. I have nothing to do with any of your suggestions, got that Barry? I am now since more than 4 years on this list and I've learned a lot from the experienced members of this community, thank you very much for your patience and sharing your knowledge. I own and fly a CJ-6A now for appr. 3 1/2 years and my wife and I put over 500 hours on it. That means I have a constant demand for parts and to keep my down time at a minimum I prefer to have more than one supplier at hand. I like to keep my aircraft in the best and safest possible condition and that explains my scrutiny when it comes to spare parts. I don't like used parts, somehow I have no luck with them. Here in Canada those aircrafts are treated like certified aircrafts and we have to use original parts and any modifications have to be approved by the Canadian FAA, so there is no or little room for experiments. IMHO, criticism and competition is vital for our economical system, otherwise we would have no or few improvements. I made the mistake to misjudge the situation and offended Mr. Doug Sapp and some other nice people on the list. There is no excuse for my behavior and I stepped over the line. I am very sorry for that, please accept my apologies. What triggered this whole fiasko was a stupid thought of mine. What would happen if Mr. Doug Sapp decides one day to retire and enjoy the fruits of his working life in warmer areas of this planets, where do I get then my parts from? Would that be the end of the CJ era in North-America? I've asked Matt Dralle to remove my postings but I got no response. So for all our sake, for the future I have to stay clear off this list and I thank you for your understanding. With best regards Elmar Hegenauer

A month or so ago, Doug, we spoke about my leaking main main gear actuator. You mentioned that in about 30 days you would receive a shipment which would include actuators. Did they arrive, and, if so, can you put one in the mail to me? Thanks, Blitz ************** Get the Moviefone Toolbar. Showtimes, theaters, movie news & 000001)

Subject: Yak 52 canope
group, has anyone changed the Yak 52 canope glass? How do I remove the sliding parts from it's rail? Do I have to drill out all the rivets from the sliding parts frames. With what kind of bucking bar do I use to rivet them in again? What size of rivets do I use? What type of sealant? Would appreciate any comments Armin

Subject: Refurbing knobs
From: "Barry Hancock" <bhancock@worldwidewarbirds.com>
Skid, >Has anyone changed these, (I think of seen some nice new ones in pictures of >others ships) and if so, do you have part numbers? All the knobs and throttle quadrant can be disassembled and treated to your contentment. All of our projects get this treatment (over 30 parts per aircraft) with epoxy paint and are clear coated for wear - with great results that replicate the original design. It's a time consuming process, but the results are "better than new." We powder coat these things in the jets, but that's metal. Plastic can be powder coated, particularly nylon based materials, but I'm not sure what our stuff is made from. Subject: Missing Man Formation
Gentlemen: We flew a missing man yesterday for a friend. During the brief, there a was a discussion about how #3 should leave the formation.- Assume the flight i s flying north to south. Should #3 pull up and west over #4, calling for a fingertip strong right? Or, should #3 pull up and west over #1 and #2, calli ng for a fingertip strong left? What say you?- Thanks, Blitz ************** Get the Moviefone Toolbar. Showtimes, theaters, movie news & r=http://toolbar.aol.com/moviefon e/download.html?ncid=emlcntusdown00000001)
