I'll defer to Shane for stats on check rides passed, etc but I'd like to add that
the Advanced Formation for Airshows presentation by Terry Calloway was most
excellent and packed full of important info for any prospective airshow acts.
Why learn it all the hard way?
The Blue Angels videos and presentation by "Weeds" was also a treat, a picture
of what kind of training and techniques the "Blues" use in their show.
You can't buy this kind of stuff anywhere.

Craig,
And all those who took the time to attend the AFT class put on by Mike
Filucci and myself.
Thank you very much for the nice complements. I very much appreciate
them and would be glad to instruct and fly again with any one of you.
Waycross was an absolute blast and should be the model for which we
design clinics. Congratulations and thank you to all those who worked
so hard to make it happen.
Waycross was full of first for a lot of folks. For me it was the
first time I have ever given a lecture where more people were in the
room at the end of talk than when it started.
Regards,
Pumper

Geez guys...it was more than me and Soups and it was a rousing, but
drunken rendition of "you've lost that loving feeling." I seem to
recall about twenty singing. GOOSE and MAVERICK got nothing on us.
Thanks to Blade and Pumper for the air show class...good information.
Thanks to Shane and his lovely spouse, Scarlett for putting up with us.
Oh, and thanks to the local Ford dealer and the City manager...right
Gemo!?

Troops,
23 airplanes and a bunch of neat guys and Mrs Charlotte.
There was also a cute little bar maid, whom was christened with the
call sign "tackle box".
Hearing "Goatboy" (or was it Soups?) sing "I've got that lonely
feeling" in the bar.
One very broken airplane and 4 or 5 airplane still stuck there till
about noon today because of weather.
"Weeds" was our honored speaker and got a taste of RPA formation.
3 check rides done along with new cards, plus a couple of rec-rides.
A 800 foot ceiling and 4 nm vis, for about 5 nm was my departure
weather with pea green machine stuck to my wing for dear life. He was
trusting my auto pilot!
I was serenaded by "Soups" on the radio until I pulled the head-set
plug!
Great week! Detailed write up in Red Alert.

A couple of people had asked me to post notes on the MiG-23UB we're assembl
ing this month=2C so here's the update.
Engine in=2C tail on=2C stabilators attached. Big Parts=2C Precise Toleran
ces... like assembling a ginormous Swiss Watch with a sledgehammer and fork
lift. :-)
This is off topic=2C so I'll just give the link: http://blog.cwam.org for
more.
