There should be a large washer behind the axle nut. With one hand at the 3 o'clock and one hand at the 9 o'clock position on the tire, gently pull on the tire until the washer, cup and front bearing are where you can grab them. It is quite common to see the drum grooved. Under no circumstance should the drum be turned. Place the wheel with the open end of the drum down on a pad. Deflate the tire by removing the valve core Next, break the bead of the tire from around the rim on both the front and back side At the valve stem, remove the nut and washer Next, press down on the outside ring of the hub. This will release the two large semi-circular clips which hold the outer ring in position against the hub. Lift the outer ring from around the hub Lift the tire from around the hub. When reassembling the tire, ring and hub, be sure the semi-circular clip ends do not extend over the valve stem area. They can be installed 180 degrees out. Tell him its just like the tire on an 18 wheeler, only a lot smaller. 1. Deflate the tire. Remove the valve stem. 2. Squirt a little MMO or WD40 around the rim edge. 3. Push down on the rim side where the locking rings are. There are two of them. Half and half. 4. Remove locking rings. 5. The rim will than spilt. 20 minutes at most per tire to change them out. The rest is general aviation maintenance stuff. Pappy **************A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. I would hazard a guess that the axle, if not identical, is very similar. IF that is correct you have missed a rather important item for a novice mechanic. The RH axle and nut have a LEFT HAND thread, The LH side is standard RH thread. Walt ----- Original Message ----- From: A.
