Subject: Re: nose gear actuator mount...
    From: doug sapp <dougsappllc@gmail.com>
Bill and all: On a CJ6 the nose gear actuator mounts to the airframe via the end cap which has a bearing in it. Many of these caps are defective. We have Rockwell tested many and have found some of them very soft. The soft ones tend to become stretched out in a oblong manner, allowing the bearing to slop up and down. We have a fix for this which is a CNC'd 4140 steel end cap with new bearing. With the aircraft on jacks or at least the tail tied down to remove all weight off the nose gear, remove the bolt which connects the nose gear ram to the over center linkage. Then push/pull STRAIGHT up/down and see if you hear the noise or feel slop in the end cap. If you don't hear/feel the movement the problem most likley is that your over center linkage is improperly adjusted. Hope this helps, Always Yakin, Doug On Fri, Feb 6, 2009 at 6:38 PM, Bill VonDane <bill.mail@whiskeyvictor.com>wrote: > Hey all...
