Just checked my Crowder spinner and bulkhead. Bulkhead is OK, maybe because I made up a 3/16" thick by 6-1/4" SS mounting plate that backs it up. The spinner itself will crack from time to time, around the edges of the outside shell. So far I have never seen a crack on the inside shell. At one time I had the prop and spnner assembly balanced to .15 IPS but each time you remove and replace for maintainance, the balance changes a little. I still have that big spinner project on the back burner. Lately some friends with homebuilts have helped turn up the heat a little. What I'd like to do is build a 20" dia. spinner using spun aluminum bulkheads and a composite shell. So far the problem is finding a lathe big enough and cheap enough to do the job. Anybody have a good/preferred source for nice data plates and getting them engraved? I need six for the helicopters. The FAA came out Friday and issued an airworthiness certificate for the fir st helicopter. Their only nit was the lack of a data plate=2C which we put on with a p-touch. We also got 120 new stainless braided hoses (all hoses=2C hydraulic=2C fuel =2C oil) for the 2x Mi-24 helicopters. One is only a condition inspection away from the a/w application as well... we're striking while our stars are in alignment! Jon
