I'm amazed the FAA let you put the aircraft identification on with a
P-Touch machine! I believe the regulation specifies it is suppose to be
fireproof.
I use the data plate shown in the Wag Aero catalog, their part number
H-742-000, for $7.95. Just checked and no photo in their on-line store.
It meets all FAA and USDEA requirements and is stainless steel. I take
them to the local trophy shop and have them engraved.

Anybody have a good/preferred source for nice data plates and getting
them engraved? I need six for the helicopters.
The FAA came out Friday and issued an airworthiness certificate for
the first helicopter. Their only nit was the lack of a data plate,
which we put on with a p-touch.
We also got 120 new stainless braided hoses (all hoses, hydraulic,
fuel, oil) for the 2x Mi-24 helicopters. One is only a condition
inspection away from the a/w application as well... we're striking while
our stars are in alignment!

Aircraft spruce has data plates. Take them to your local trophy shop
and you'll be set! Good luck Jon.

Craig:
The spinner could be one of the best bang for the buck speed mods for a CJ. If
you had the specs for the machined aluminum, there is a company in Australia
that makes spinner for other aircraft. I contacted them last year and they were
not interested in making the backing plate but could make the spinner.
Contact me off list if you want the name of the company, etc.

Tim:
Thanks for posting this. I got one. Very impressive little unit. Spot also allow
you to have a website that can track your specific unit. The Spot can be
set up to update your position every 10 minutes. Nice for those family members
at home that want to track where you are. This is in addition to the satellite
911 capability and the ability to send a text message to an e-mail address
that says you are OK or that you need help.

Nope, only got new stainless, not worth putting those with an old exhaust.? We
just need the one stock segment, lower right, nothing fancy.
Still looking.
Thanks

Jon,
Long time reader of this forum and first time post. You may want to check out www.engravers.net out of Granby, CT. They will engrave third party plates or you can select from several they carry. I have one at their shop now and I'll let you know how it turns out.
Best Regards,
Steve
