You can use a Heli Coil or Keenserts repair kit to fix this, others as well.? You must grease the tap flutes to catch the metal shaving as the tap cuts them, removing the tap several times to clean and regrease.? Then install the Heil Coil or Keensert for new threads.? If you bring the cylinder up of the exhaust stroke with the valve open you can then blow out any particles that might have fallen into the cylinder.? Done this many times in the past. Looks like it was either left loose or overtightened and pulled the threads out.? Most people should really use a torque wrench when installing spark plugs as they just don't have the feel from years of experience. Good luck!? Easy fix really. Thanks guys. I should have been more specific. I want to repair the shield only. The spark plug socket seems fine. I reinstalled a new plug and it tightened fine, ran the engine up to full power plug stayed in fine. Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=241102#241102

Plug torque:? 216 to 240 inch pounds or 18-20 foot pounds. A small inch pound torque wrench is best, they sell a nice little one at Sears.? A small dab of anti-seize compound as well on the threads. Curious about my oil consumption and how it relates to the group as a whole. I'm typically burning a little less than a quart an hour in my Housai. About 250 hours since first overhaul. Occasionally more. How about you? Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=241138#241138

That sounds about right.=C2- My CJ is about the same, although I think th e majority of the "burn" is leakage that I wipe off after every flight.=C2 -JB ----- Original Message ----- From: "N642K" <mdecanio@mac.com> Sent: Friday, April 24, 2009 5:51:13 PM GMT -06:00 US/Canada Central Subject: Yak-List: What is your typical oil consumption?
