Hi,I.m going to change the fabric of the rudder and elevators of a YAK-52. One of the reasons is that the rib of the right elevator is broken. There is an Aerostar Bulletin 83D about this subject, Does anybody know how can I get this Bulletin? Thanks. Jose del Peso

Barry, The substantial removal of the wing rib to enlarge the fuel cavity reduced the cross bracing provided by the original rib. Complex engineering calculation and test would be required to fully evaluate the effect of your modification to the wing structure. I assume your engineer considered this. Has static testing been done to verify your structural design? The tank suspension system looks good. Gill -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of barryhancock Sent: Wednesday, May 06, 2009 12:11 PM Subject: Re: Yak-List:Save on CJ and YAK Extended Range Fuel Capacity <bhancock@worldwidewarbirds.com> Gil, That's great that you've developed an extra fuel alternative for the Yaks, nice job. I wanted to clarify a few things about our CJ fuel tanks. 1) Our design is engineered to maintain the original support structure for the tank and exceed the strength of the original configuration. 2) We maintain the original vent line and configuration. 3) The modification of the rib is by the book, and FAA DER approved. 4) We have not changed the use of any structure such as stress doors, etc. 5) ALL parts for installation are included in the kit. Attach brackets, straps with felt installed, bonding straps, Electronics International FL-2C capacitance fuel gauge and probes, and installation instructions. NO extra costs. 6) A competent sheet metal guy should be able to complete the installation in less than 40 hours. SPECIAL OFFER, order your tanks by May 15 and get $500 off the kit and $500 off installation price. I'll be posting more info on our web site shortly.... Happy flying! Subject: yak 52 panel
I am looking for original yak 52 panels that I can have to help me put the panel in CAD... Jill was nice enough to loan me the panels for a bit, but I need some that I can remove the hinges and thumbscrews from, basically I need some that someone no longer needs... Once I have them digitized I will add them to my ePanel Builder (www.whiskeyvictor.com) and will be able to design and cut new custom panels for other 52's... I already have the CJ panels digitized, just need to get them added to the site... Thanks! -Bill Whiskey Victor / ePanel Builder www.whiskeyvictor.com / 719-510-0854

I have been using Aeroshell #5 grease in my Russian paddle blade as it is the stiffest of the Aeroshell greases. Is there something else out there that has proven it's worth? Craig Payne cpayne@joimail.com

Aeroshell 5 has been the standard grease for Hamilton Standard Constant Speed (counterweight types) for many, many years.. For a time about 15 or more years ago Grease 5 was apparently dropped by Shell and limited manufacture was taken over by another company. Some of the overhaul shops changed to Aeroshell 6 but I believe have since reverted to Grease 5 which is again available from Shell. I have used it for at least 50 years in all counterweight props.whether US, Russian or Chinese. Also wheel bearings and many other applications . Hey all, Some of you knew Forest Johnson who crashed his CJ a couple of months ago. He was in his newer bird with the M14P. He still had his old CJ with the 285HP. I have agreed to broker it for his widow. I got it up and running yesterday. If you are interested or know someone who is, please give me a call. It is listed on Barnstormer.com for $69,995. This is a great plane at a fair price. Kerry McAnally "Big Mac" 214-683-8025
