For our 18t we used special rivets on all covered surfaces except wings -
much quicker but hope it will not require recovering for many years ! We
tied off wing stitching at every knot per Poly book - a floodlight behind
the wing helps - we hung the wing on a frame so did not have to bend or
stretch too much. The long curved needle is essential. We also covered all
end lightening holes to stop birds nesting and other small home-seekers.

Ok guys. Here are the completed assemblies. These were setup for a
plane with gear extensions. I didn't use the exact angle because I
wanted it to work for a plane without them as well. There is only
something like 1 or 2 degrees difference anyway. The just need a
light hand sanding to get rid of the extra machine marks before paint.

Subject: | Hole where the Tach Gen was |
Think I'm leaning towards the Horizons tach unit. Any suggestions as to what to
do with the hole in the accessory case where the old tach gen was? I'm thinking
of just removing the guts of the old casing and putting just the case on.
Thoughts?

Just be very careful if you pull anything else out other than the Tach
Gen itself. Inside that hole where the Tach Gen goes is the gearing
that also drives the air-start distributor. Disturb that, and you will
regret it for a long long time.

P.s. The Horizons Tach is a great device. But .... It hooks to the P
leads of the MAG(s) for operation. The MAG P leads are a very strong
source of EMI to ANY radio. Be very careful of exposed wires, use high
quality shielded wiring, bond all shields to ground properly, and keep
any additional P lead wiring just as short as can be. Just my 2 cents.
Your mileage may vary.
