We tied off wing stitching at every knot per Poly book - a floodlight behind the wing helps - we hung the wing on a frame so did not have to bend or stretch too much. The long curved needle is essential. We also covered all end lightening holes to stop birds nesting and other small home-seekers. Here are the completed assemblies. These were setup for a plane with gear extensions. I didn't use the exact angle because I wanted it to work for a plane without them as well. There is only something like 1 or 2 degrees difference anyway. The just need a light hand sanding to get rid of the extra machine marks before paint. Any suggestions as to what to do with the hole in the accessory case where the old tach gen was? I'm thinking of just removing the guts of the old casing and putting just the case on. Thoughts? Inside that hole where the Tach Gen goes is the gearing that also drives the air-start distributor. Disturb that, and you will regret it for a long long time. Mark Bitterlich P.s. The Horizons Tach is a great device. But .... It hooks to the P leads of the MAG(s) for operation. The MAG P leads are a very strong source of EMI to ANY radio. Be very careful of exposed wires, use high quality shielded wiring, bond all shields to ground properly, and keep any additional P lead wiring just as short as can be. Just my 2 cents. Your mileage may vary. -----Original Message----- From: owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-yak-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of shinden33 Sent: Tuesday, May 12, 2009 2:12 PM Subject: Yak-List: Hole where the Tach Gen was Think I'm leaning towards the Horizons tach unit.
