The instructions call for attachment at the ignition switch, but all I see is a harness going into the back of the ignition switch. Any help appreciated. BTW, I have the automotive spark plug conversion if it matters. Follow marks comments on making sure they wires are grounded. But other than that, the installation is very strait forward. It has been working for me for over 500 hours on my CJ/M14P. Dennis Savarese" Subject: Re: Yak-List: P1000 tach installation Bill, Remove the screws holding the mag switch. Slide the mag switch forward. Next, remove the clamp holding the braided shielding. Remove the cover to expose the individual mag leads. Using an ohm meter, test the wire going to the magneto to confirm Mag 1 and Mag 2. Be sure the rear switch is in the 1+2 position when ohming out the contact to mag p-lead. The third wire is ground. It's going to be difficult. I took it off the panel today and there is next to no slack, could hardly pull it down enough to see the back let alone work on it, thanks for the info.
