The Yak 52 TW is placarded - diving outside loop entry 93 mph
climbing outside loop - entry 211 mph
I have done neither and cannot comment other than inverted level at
about 120 mph to verticle push outside is a neg 3 g push.

Aerostar is in Bacau, Romania. No focus on 52's any longer. But if
you're in the area, it might be nice to visit and pick someone's brain.
Last I knew, the marketing director was Cristian Dragoi (sp?).

You'll see on their home page on the right they don't even show a Yak
52.

Subject: | airspeed indicators |
In the Mi-2 helicopters we are restoring the airspeed indicators go to 500
km/hr even though Vne is something more like 200 km/hr. My friend said thi
s was like his old car that had a speedometer that went to 160 even though
the car was scary at 80 mph. :-)
The short question is if we replace these with airspeed indicators that go
to maybe 120 knots (apparently helicopter pilots can only think in knots)
=2C will they simply work=2C or are airspeed indicators matched to the air
system in an aircraft?
Obviously the other choice is to simply reface them=2C but everybody agrees
that an airspeed that goes to less than half the gauge for Vne seems like
a waste of a lot of dial space.
